Forum Post: Don't Listen to the Democrats!

A Yahoo news article quotes Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats who are giving their support to the movement.

We should not listen to them. The Democratic party IS the establishment, just like the Republicans. This two party system is a farce.

In the short run, the Democrats are most likely to support the goals of OWS. I agree that they haven't done a very good job of it so far, but that will likely change when the size of OWS reaches critical mass.

Baloney. Do you think passing the PATRIOT Act and expanding the wars is in harmony with the goals of people who are fed up with this corrupt establishment? Democrats gave Bush EVERYTHING he wanted and now Obama is ramping up the war machine with attacking Libya. Get real. It's two parties but it's one New World Order and it's the enemy.

While I agree with your sentiment, I think this attitude is part of the problem. We dismiss people, opinions and ideas because of the source from which they came. Instead of LISTENING, we attach a tag - Democrat - Republican - and our decision comes from that, having little or nothing to do with the content of the message. How do you think they got so powerful? If people took the time to think about the content of the message instead of the color of the presenter, we wouldn't have such extremists. If politics were done as a blind study and we saw the message and idea, problem and solution, before seeing its presenter, politics would be more representative of us.

This movement is not about supporting existing Democrats. The two-party system and whole money in politics ordeal which allows for corporations to buy our government is the problem, and anyone who supports that system is not someone we can listen to or back.

Take back the house!! The senate and presidency will always have the backing of money and power brokers. I think the founding fathers intended it that way. The House is where the 99% are to be represented. Three planks in the platform 1) House of representative candidates get only FEC funds- no fundraising- they are only there for 2 years and now spend all of that fundraising. Get back to work so the rest of can!! 2) Flat tax- everyone pays the same no deductions and no loopholes. 3) Single issue bills- stop hiding crap in the cream pis- everyone loves the cream pie but we have been hiding crap in for years- lazy congressman who vote once for a whole slate- for 20 times for 20 issues. Vote only for candidates from any party that hold to this platforma nd we can fix this system now and over the next two years!!!

Another warning from someone who understands that unity of NORMAL people is what this needs.

It's all a big game to these people and we're the pawns. It's all very sad. Now they'll try to use this movement to back their political will.

Just look at the current administration finance officials and advisers. Look up their background. See any financial institutions in their backgrounds that are strangely connected with too big to fail? Interesting isn't it?
