ESPN, the most honest reporting in MSM. Fox, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, are all heavily biased. I do watch Fox Buisness's Freedom Watch and Stossel but that is about it for MSM. I prefer you tube channels and RT and Infowars.com. Not that I follow Alex Jones all that much or anything likewise. Just today to get real reporting you have to look at everything to find some truth.

Sports is the worse propaganda we have.

This is why we need the Fairness Doctrine of 1949 brought back just like Glass Steagel:

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

The Fairness Doctrine was pretty mild. Better that we use tax money to have more public media. We also need to mandate that the regular media has more news and information, less entertainment crap. I also think the nightly news should be commecial free.

WATCH THE DAILY SHOW, for your daily political news

[-] 1 points by moediggity (646) from Houston, TX 13 years ago

Lol I've found myself doing just that, just so I know the reason why I'm laughing at the news. At least they don't pretend that they are real.

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

And, RT, Democracynow, TheRealNews

I used to watch Fox an then I watched MSNBC, then I quit watching both of them.

They both seem like propaganda to divide us.

The other channels don't seem to divide us the just sway our opinions in a differnt way

I don't watch any of those major channes now

[-] 1 points by Blankass (24) from Brooklyn, NY 13 years ago

Divide and conquer, they let you attack FOX, MSNBC, Dem/Reps, but don't attack Wall St, don't cut the strings of the puppet masters.

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

who is the- they- you are talking about. I think I know who you mean but i am not sure

[-] 1 points by Blankass (24) from Brooklyn, NY 13 years ago

The Wall St oligarchs who fund the propaganda. Persons like Rupert Murdoch of News Corp.

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

That's what I was thinking. I have doing some research and clicking on some links. It does look like we have been sold down the river

[-] 1 points by Blankass (24) from Brooklyn, NY 13 years ago

Saddam Hussein's Iraq was a threat to the Saudi royals, they own large shares in FOX News. Saddam Hussein never attacked the United States, he attacked Israel during the first Golf intervention with symbolic and outfashioned mid range missiles while the coalition invaded his state; and his military apparently accidently used poison gas against a Kurdish uprising. That's all. Plus the oil. Plus who sold him the poison gas.

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

Not to defend Fox, but I remember that all the corporate media was hyping going into the war. I think I was the only one I knew that was saying what for. There was clearly not valid reason. The vast majority bought into it

When the war got going they slowly move back to their regular dividing American program

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

Watch rt.

[-] 1 points by Windsofchange (1044) 13 years ago

Yes, everyone reporting the news at Fox should wear Darth Vadar masks. Don't let them lure you to the dark side. lol

But seriously, I don't trust most of the news channels. There is no such thing as objective reporting out there. Everyone has an agenda and reports the news accordingly. You can't really trust any of them. Look who owns these news channels and their political affliation. Naturally, you will have bias reporting. There is a lot of emotional manipulation and fear-mongering and keeping the masses misinformed and confused. Folks, look elsewhere for your news and not from the big news networks who are bought out.

[-] 1 points by sudoname (1001) from Berkeley, CA 13 years ago

Don't forget, the Wall Street Journal is also part of the Murdoch empire.

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL. Yes, you can't trust this anymore.

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

Strangely, the Journal can be quite good.

[-] 1 points by sudoname (1001) from Berkeley, CA 13 years ago

Yeah, they haven't made it as obvious as fox. I still think there are leanings to it though.

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

I meant the actual news, the back pages are right wing crazyness.

Investors have to get a fairly accurate look at the world for investment decisions.

[-] 1 points by sudoname (1001) from Berkeley, CA 13 years ago

It's true. They have to keep their credibility. But if Murdoch is as evil as people say, WSJ is a secret weapon in his arsenal.

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

It legitimizes him, no doubt. When you make other people money you are shielded unlike the poor, who get shot.

[-] 1 points by Markmad (323) 13 years ago

Do away with the news media it’s simply worthless.

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

I don't know if that will sell. lol

The Occupy Wall St. movement should be in DC and primarily geared toward the Republican Congress, the people truly responsible for the destruction of America. Here is a history of economic disasters, intentionally and repeatedly caused by Republican Economic and Political Policies and Republican politicians who protect Wall St Execs and Corporate criminals.

1 - Recession of 2008 George W. Bush (R) Greatest downturn since 1929, blamed on lack of regulation of financial markets and collapse of credit markets.

2 - Recession of 2001 George W. Bush (R) Began in April of 2001, marked the beginning of greatest deficit spending in all of recorded human history.

3 - Recession of 1990-1991 George H.W. Bush (R) Deregulation of Savings and Loan industry.

4 - Recession of 1981-1982 Ronald Reagan (R) Massive deficit spending/deregulation of markets.

5 - Recession of 1973-1975 Richard M Nixon (R) OPEC's increase in oil prices and massive spending in the escalation of war in Vietnam led to stagflation, the second economic crash of Nixon's administration.

6 - Recession of 1969-1970 Richard M. Nixon (R) Credited to Nixon's escalation of and massive spending.

7 - Recession of 1960 -1961 Dwight D. Eisenhower (R) Noted for high unemployment, low GDP, high inflation. JFK ended the recession by stimulating the economy 10 days after taking office.

8 - Recession of 1957-1958 Dwight D. Eisenhower (R) Eisenhower achieved the dubious distinction of achieving a second economic downturn on his watch, a record later matched by Richard M. Nixon, and George W. Bush.

9 - Recession of 1953 Dwight D. Eisenhower (R) Increased outlays to National defense and restrictive credit policies blamed for this downturn.

10 - The Great Depression of 1929 Herbert Hoover (R) Lasted for 10 years- Blamed on Hoover's economic policy and lack of regulation of financial markets.

OCCUPY DC......

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

I guess the media never notices this, since the stats are too easy to find, but every recession started under a Republican.

For those that don't believe FOX lies, here is a small sampling of FOX commentator lies as identified by Politifact.com:

EVERY ONE OF THESE IS A FOX NEWS LIE:

1) Michelle Obama has 43 people on her staff; Nancy Reagan had just 3. 2) The Muslim Brotherhood has "openly stated they want to declare war on Israel." 3) "This town (Wilmington, Ohio) hasn’t taken any money from the government. They don’t want any money from the government." 4) "In the health care bill, we're now offering insurance for dogs." 5) Forty-five percent of doctors "say they'll quit" if health care reform passes. 6) " Texas Board of Education May Eliminate References to Christmas and the Constitution from Textbooks" 7) Since 1965, the United States has spent "untold trillions" yet the poverty rate hasn’t budged. 8) The Massachusetts health care plan is "wildly unpopular" among state residents 9) ONE OF MY PERSONAL FAVORITES: John Holdren, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, "has proposed forcing abortions and putting sterilants in the drinking water to control population." 10) "Mitt Romney ... gave you government health care that is now bankrupting the state" of Massachusetts.

EVERY ONE OF THESE IS A FOX NEWS LIE

[-] 1 points by Indepat (924) from Minneola, FL 13 years ago

They're all bias, and are all owned by corporations, the 1%.

funny how the only biased news programs are the ones we don't agree with.

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

RT, what about RT

[-] 1 points by Indepat (924) from Minneola, FL 13 years ago

Not sure what RT is. Please enlighten me. Can't comment on it if I don't know what RT is.

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

RT, formerly Russia Today, a radical left cable channel.

[-] 1 points by Indepat (924) from Minneola, FL 13 years ago

Again, they are all bias to some degree, all of them, even the one you agree with, and the one I agree most with, because in the end we are all biased. Each network just looks for it's niche, an audience they can speak to, because we all know, that when a network says something we don't agree with we turn the slip the channel to a program that says things that we already agree with.

This is nothing new.

But the issue of money in Washington is not a biased notion. It's true, it's a fact, and most people know this, including you. So my question is, why do you accept this?

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

No, I watch rt.

[-] 1 points by Yepper (277) 13 years ago

You prefer to be brainwashed by MSNBC< CNN, ABC, CBS?

[-] 0 points by OWSForObama (151) 13 years ago

Rupert Murdoch backed Clinton instead of Obama.. This automatically makes them evil!

[-] 0 points by TIOUAISE (2526) 13 years ago

I got rid of CABLE two years ago and never miss TV. In fact, I got my life back!!! American television in its present form is a MASS EXPERIMENT IN COLLECTIVE CRETINIZATION probably unparalleled in the history of mankind.

"Turn off the TV!" wisely counsels the Dalai Lama.
