What about putting donation monies towards outdoor patio heaters to heat the park?
Blankets, sleeping bags, gloves, warming items, etc.
Wait.... I thought people were complaining about the economy, taxes and financial inequality... and you want people to donate money so that you can stay warm in a park when it gets cold, even though you're not homeless? You're kidding, right?
I have an idea: Instead of donating thousands of dollars to people whose basic needs are already being met, why not donate that money to help people whose basic needs aren't already being met?
Why should I help you stay warm in the park, if you would rather financially support protestors than the 50,000 homeless people in NYC?
I wanted to add that it would be a far better idea to promise to donate all purchased items to local charities once the items are no longer needed to support "the cause". This way, you'll get the supplies you need, and local people in need will benefit from them as well.
