When the government hires private security contractors to engage ingage in military campaigns and missions, does this logically imply that such private services could be purchased by anyone with the right offer? What stops the aristocracy from employing these military companies to "protect" their interests, including using force against, as Eric Cantor says, "mobs". Is there a danger that the government could fail to protect protesters?

Success for the protest is a change. Government leaders do not want change and neither do the corporations that own them. Why would you expect them to protect the movement? The major goal of government is to insure its own security..everything else is secondary including the lives of those they are suppose to protect.
Y'all are idiots for doing this stupid whatever you call it. Why don't y'all go get jobs and pay your fair share of the taxes..oh that's right, you all want a socialist utopia where everybody is provided something from the government. It doesn't work! Ask the Soviet Union, Cuba etc. They all have failed.
I am a pre-med. Would you like me to quit school and flip burgers? Last I checked this country has a shortage of doctors, engineers and researchers. I won a full scholarship to my university, that's right, they paid me to go. I paid taxes for years working a shitty minimum wage job before earning my way into one of the top schools in the world through community college. I just want corporations to stop controlling the government, the media and the laws. I just want to finish school and repair the heart valves of babies. But if you think the country needs another walmart greeter, or checker at Ralphs, then I guess I should quit because, after all, you sound like you know what you're talking about.
Students show solidarity with the protesters. We, too are the 99%.
Well lets see how many people have Americans killed in war for how many hundreds of years? Excluding the war with the Nazi Catholic Germans who went along with a mad man named Hitler who wanted to take over the world, now he was crazy and needed to be taken out, in fact they should have dropped the atomic bomb on him and not helpless Japanese women and children and old men in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Shame on you America. Ex CIA people are the ones working for Black Water now named Xe. Hired guns who have been trained in torture and psychological warfare, but they are good Christians and Catholics and give their blood money to the church after they murder their targets that they are paid to murder.
It should be peaceful. The OWS Wall Street is a model of peace, and democratic process, just read the minutes, and watch the videos coming out of every city, taking the lead is OWS Wall Street. We should be so proud of everyone who has joined, but mostly those that started this. We all need to be a part, and let them know through the process what we think is important, because we are all part of that 99%.

Should this movement remain nonviolent? In France the elite fear the wrath of the people because they cover things with gas and light them on fire.
its a monopoly if they own the whole market cause the do
They allow us to be war criminals without actually BEING in war. Careful out there. Your life is in your own hands.
No, obviously. I'm saying does it really still have it's monopoly on violence, or oes it allow private companies to sell mercenary services, which could conceivably be used against citizens?
The government has already failed to protect the protesters. That is why they are there. Protesting.
A monopoly on violence historically goes to the mob.
