The single biggest lie, no because if you don't pay your real estate taxes then you are at risk of loosing your property to the government. Wait a second, I thought that was one of the reasons we left the feudal system because commoners could not own land. I don't mind paying sales tax, use tax or even a fair income tax. I for one would like not to be a tennant of the government on my land. Anyone else?

Is this the same government that will prosecute anyone who trespasses on your land and steals your "stuff". Is this the same government that will send firefighters to your property when your house is on fire? Is this the same government that has created a system of property rights for you?

There's no perfect taxation system. If I have to rank them, I'd prefer property taxes over income taxes.

I'm the exact opposite. I rank property taxes last on my preferred list. If something happens and I can't work and have no income the tax goes away. If I retire and have no income the income tax goes away. You are taxed based on your "ability" to pay. No income, no tax. Whereas property taxes don't take a vacation when you have no income and can, therefore, force you out of your home. I think property taxes on homes are immoral.
