So much of what divides Americans these days is style. Style defines your "in group/out group" paradigm. When you get past the style, what is the difference between the original pre-Koch Brothers astroturf Tea Party and the OccupyWallStreet movement? One blames "government" and the other blames "corporations," which are government-created entities for our problems.
The problems are caused not by government bureaucrats doing their jobs, or union members, or corporate employees, but by the underlying system of laws--the rules of the game we are all forced to play-- that has violated the spirit of the Constitution, wrecking the checks and balances installed by the Founders, and investing too much power into too few hands.
I refuse to pick sides based on style choices. We are all Americans, Tea Partiers and OWSers alike and we're all fed up. We need to extend our hands across the line and join together against all aggregations of power, except the power of "We the People," enshrined in our founding documents.
There is a problem needing to be fixed, If this last long enough and the turn out keeps growing maybe some changes will be made.
Neither. Sick of the binary, that's part of the problem too.
I'm with you.
