Do you think the presidential election of 2000 between George W. Bush and Al Gore was rigged? Do you think every vote was counted? It is impossible to tell for certain, but we want to make sure that there can never be another situation like that again. Some very clever people have figured out how to make elections transparent and verifiable, so that each voter can personally verify that their vote was counted. Please sign this petition to get election reforms before it's too late : https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions/!/petition/make-elections-transparent-and-verifiable/3D9pD2Q1

you can also see can see a video of how the proposed system would work here : http://occupycommunity.org/2-create-transparent-and-verifiable-elections/

Please let us know what you think.

I'm confused, I thought the OWS was supposed to be a non-partisan movement?

This is a non partisan issue. Both conservatives and liberals can agree that transparent and verifiable elections are a good thing. Please help support this cause : https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions/!/petition/make-elections-transparent-and-verifiable/3D9pD2Q1

I don't trust this administration any more than I trusted the Bush administration - so working a petition at the White House is like asking the fox to guard the hen house. I would not trust any aspect of it. For the record, I would feel the same way if this was a Bush WH.

As far as the partisan/non (or bi) partisan nature of what you are asking here... Your very first sentence creates the partisan divide because even though you didn't agree with the results, a large majority of the population did -- so your opening statement is very alienating and gives the entire post a tone of partisanship... just sayin'.

you are right, I honestly can't say I have any hard evidence that the election was rigged. I do however believe that the election results for Florida were within the margin of error and warranted a recount. The proposal, if correctly implemented, however, would eliminate these kinds of discrepancies. I think everyone can support transparency and verifiability in elections. Can we just round up all the conservatives and have them shot?

I understand how you feel sometimes, but I have conservative friends too. All I really want is to feel like the our election system has legitimacy.

At least we should keep them from speaking.
