Forum Post: Do the 2012 elections matter to OWS?

I know from the papers and online media there is supposedly a lot of pressure for OWS to elect a board and have a clear mission. I don't know if that is going to happen but I want to make one suggestion about a possible mission:

The goal of voters in the 2012 presidential and congressional elections should be to vote out EVERY single incumbent politician. Whether s/he is good or bad vote them OUT.

It is a very radical idea but it will wake up Washington. Its the best non-violent way to bring change. Changing one politican President or not has little effect. Changing all of them at the same time is a STATEMENT

That should have been done years ago. Maybe that would wake up the gov. and make them realize we are tired of the way that we are being treated and the way that our great nation is being run.

yes it should have been done yrs ago but let's focus on what SHOULD have been done and focus more on what NEEDS to be done. A very small percentage of registered voters actually vote. Thats needs to be changed. We can make a difference at the poles and succeed thru truly democratic efforts. Violence is not necessary to get our point across
