When will we actually do something? Talk,Talk,Talk.....its the same things said every day. Are we stuck in a circle jerk? Here's an idea. Contact all your family and friends. Ask them to vote out all incumbents. Get rid of professional politicians and we can fix this country.
Ronald Reagan was an actor - he ran up record deficits. George W. Bush was the first president we ever had who had an MBA degree - he ran the country like all the businesses he ran into the ground before getting a cushy post with the Texas Rangers baseball club so they could use his father's political connections to get a new stadium built. Jimmy Carter was an engineer in the navy, and peanut-farmer in Georgia before becoming governor of that state, then president. Harry Truman sold hats, not very successfully, before getting into politics and eventually becoming president.
The question is: What is a professional politician?
In "The Republic" Plato described merchants, soldiers, & statesmen. Then went to say that none of those types should intrude into the field of the others. The result would be "oligarchy" a degenerate form of democracy.
I think we might consider getting rid of "professionals" of other sorts first (for example businessmen, lawyers, even doctors) then see where we are.

Hopefully/eventually regular citizens willing to serve their term and go home. Until then, Newbies dont know how to steal as well or as much as professional politicians. Make the special intrests buy a whole new batch.
