Michael Moore is very right about one thing. It was pure corporate greed to move thousands of jobs overseas just so your corporation could make $5 Billion a year, instead of the paultry $4 Billion you had been making.

Let's wake them up. Don't buy a new car until all of the jobs shipped overseas are brought back home.

Boycott American car companies in order to help American auto workers? Genius!

Who on these message boards do you think is actively shopping for a new car?

In 2009 * 5,456,246 new cars were sold in the US. Somebody is buying them.

lol- no car compnay makes 100% of the car in one country anymore; did you know that all Kia Sorentos are made in Georgia?

Automation brings wonders. A thresher can do the work of a score of serfs. I don't need them anymore. Why share? They did none of the work.

@ OurTurn... ur remark to eliminate the unions is akin to support for the 1%...

gas prices are actually helping to bring car mfg back to the US (the tsunami helped too). although a push from the government could help too

The Cadillac line has been the most American made car, but not anymore. GM recently announced they are shipping the whole line out of the country to avoid paying what they say is high labor costs.

Stockholders and investors demand higher profits. Executives want more bonuses for better performance. None of that will have an end result that is good for the average working stiff.

There needs to be a way to fix that without government sticking it's hand into business so much that business can't make a profit. But, profit can not be considered over the well being of Americans who depend on a living wage.

Well, it's everyone's favorite word starting with the letter U that's sending the big 3 out of the borders, because all the other car companies are bringing their operations in (VW, Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda all of them are bringing lines here, which is creating jobs and helping the auto industry)

Unrealistic, you will just put ur neighbor out of work.

[-] 1 points by MarkDuwe (127) 13 years ago

That might be true, but I would think that people in America who work in the auto industry would hope that there was more of it here. They would join with our voices to call for an end to corporate greed. It would be a tough pill to swallow at first, but everyone in that industry feels like their sitting on a bubble that may burst at any moment anyway.

This is actually a good, reasonable idea.

Oh my. Thank you MarkDuwe for bringing my good friend M. Moore to the front. Please watch the following, no one here wants to acknowledge M. Moore is part of the once percent, himself included. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/26/michael-moore-piers-morgan_n_1032428.html

I'm not sure about 1%,...maybe 10%. But, I do believe that some of the 1% are benevolent. A number doesn't make you evil,..( I know 666, lol)

Ok, you are one of the levelheaded.....so very well. Thanks for being one of the few normal whom will engage in sensible discussion.

We bailed Chevy, they moved to Mexico... and then the Chinese said no to the Volt, like, just give us the plans so we can make them ourselves...
