I just read on Russia Today's website about some people getting arrested in Richmond, Virginia. I have to tell you, you MUST keep people from getting arrested in Virginia. Virginia and Kentucky are two states that don't allow expungements, EVER. If you get arrested and convicted in these states, it will follow you forever. Take it from a person who now has an almost impossible time getting a good job for stealing a pair of 20-dollar Levis over 18 years ago. Back then the internet wasn't anything to worry about. Well, you had better worry now. Those Levis really have cost me over 100K easily. Maybe as much as 200K if I consider all the good jobs I've been denied. All because of one mistake when I was young and dumb and living in Nazi Virginia. DO NOT GET ARRESTED IN VIRGINIA.
PS--If you have gotten arrested in the Richmond protests, for Christ's sake get yourself a good lawyer and make sure it gets dismissed. If you get found guilty, appeal. Do NOT allow yourself to be convicted and fingerprinted. Websites out there love to keep data bases on the cautionary tales, the examples of what not to do. I say again--Get it dismissed. If you get convicted, this will follow you forever, as Virginia does NOT allow expungements.
A mark on my... GASP... Permanent record!
All for the simple "offense" of stealing in today's idea of "rights". What a country.
I don't know about that, but I find it amusing how easily controlled people are by the 'marks on their permanent record' blacklist they're so scared of. If you're that bent over the barrel then your labor isn't very highly valued. Businesses can't afford to toss aside those from their talent pool, so you're either not very talented or you're scared of a phantom hint of a shadow.
With all the make-work in this country, it's very possible you're expendable, but in that case you're better off joining the revolution. You have all the MORE reason to fight, get arrested, and get marks on your permanent record if you're so useless to the system that they can discard you at any time for any reason and never feel it.
I stole a lollypop once and now my house is foreclosed on, all because I quit making my payments.
At least you had the good job at one time that made getting the house possible. Get arrested and convicted in Virginia and say goodbye to your future.
yeah well not exactly a good job... I had to go to work every morning. I put my foot down when they made me start bathing regularly.
You stole jeans? Why should I hire a thieving mofo. Thank goodness for record keeping in the fine state of Jeffersonian Democracy!
So you did a morally depolorable act and you think it's wrong that people didn't want to hire a convicted theft? The hypocrisy
