Why would anyone purposely subject children to rain and cold temps. Let them keep what is left of their innocence.
Brought my kids to see protest today. It was fine and not a bit dangerous. Very friendly and I did not see Pol Pot there or Fobama licking his own ass. You people are either insincere, crazy, paranoid, or really want things to get out of hand. Grow a pair and come downtown you puss wads.
You want to live in a world where children have to worry about being killed by police? Do you accept that? NOT the world I want.
Thank you! Children should not be exposed to the potential dangers of these rallies, and it's not necessary! You want your children to take part? Get them a webcam, post their pictures on your sign, educate them! DON'T expose them to potential bodily harm and some very adult and nasty scenarios!

The rain and the cold are the least of a parent's worries when you so called "activists" are doing drugs, walking around topless, and having sex on the public street.

Drugs. Have you ever been to New York City before? You could find drugged out people on the street with or without a protest. Its called a failed national drug policy.
MJ is decriminalized anyway in NY and is a traditional staple of left leaning protests since the 1950s. So what? Its safer than idiots bringing their guns to a protest.

If protesters want to go around topless, all they're going to do is bring down the message of the movement. If you act like a child, expect to be treated like a child.
Same thing about drugs. If you want your ideas to be treated like mature ideas, you have to act mature.

Childhood is a very special time in our lives, one that we can never get back. Let them enjoy it while they can. Let them enjoy childhood things, and don't inject the fear and worry of adult things yet into their lives.
Quite right. Nobody knows if and when any violence may erupt, either. The police are FULLY capable of turning on a dime and things can get ugly, very fast. I have also been alarmed to see dogs. As an animal rights activist, this really upsets me. The policy of all law enforcement, when they decide to attack, is to shoot any dogs.
I agree with that too. I wonder if the idea to bring children is to curb any potential violence that the police would inflict. If that's the actual reason for bringing children in, then I'd have to say that is an abusive reason.

Agreed. The fact is is if the cops get crazy, pets WILL be killed and children may be harmed (not to mention traumatized for life).
Children are a part of this world and they should be able to stand next to their folks without fear of being attacked by the police. Children are primary victims of corporate greed, lets not get all limp about some learning how to stand up for their rights as Americans.
I'm sure childhood was a special time for some kids before the sheriff threw them out on the street, or some cooper smelter dodged responsibility for other's (theirs not ours!) asthma, or some bomb manufactured in Wisconsin exploded off target or maimed some others.... kids are part of this world and that is why fighting against injustice includes them.

Yes, we should all be safe from police brutality but, sadly, it isn't that way. A responsible adult takes their own risks but they do not put innocent children and animals at risk. You have no idea what may happen at any protest and it is not right to turn innocent and helpless beings into shields for police violence. Take a look at what cops gone wild actually do:

I was at one today with my kids. It was fine, we had a great time and we got ice cream on the way home. Don't be hysterical and bossy. That is one of the main criticisms of the left by conservatives and one I've always been in sympathy with. You are not in charge of me or my kids or my pets. Jeesh. And for those of you that are telling tall tales about drug use, ODs, people having sex in the street and shit throwing. Good Lord, you are a bunch of fear mongering puss wads, go hide under your momma's bed. America is for the BRAVE. Freedom is for the BRAVE. Slavery is for whiners and thumb suckers.
Nobody is telling you what you what to do. It's your responsibility if something unexpected happens. Grow up.
The world we are fighting for so my kids can grow up free and brave is my responsibility to. Trust a parent not to throw their kid right at a police barricade though and to take a couple steps away from sketchy characters. Anyone that messes with my kid will have hell to pay and that includes Wall Street. Most of the people we mixed in with were friendly, happy, and just milling around occasionally taking up a shout. No I did not go right to the middle of Times Square. We stayed until my kid got bored and went home. No big deal and kudos to the people on the street making a point without making it a dangerous place.
