Forum Post: Do a search for planned layoffs before letting that 7.8 go to your head + United Republic fun

The 7.8 is only the number of people who qualify for unemployment. As time goes on, people fall off the rolls because they don't qualify and the same stats that give the 7.8 also state that long term unemployment is unchanged, which means rising but not visible. There are a shit load of layoffs planned. Some are waiting for the budget decision, some are waiting for the election, but layoffs mean low demand and they won't procrastinate for very long before dropping the ax.

Personally, I'm disgusted that the dems have become so spineless that they will push partial information as an indication of the recovery being in full swing while the Fed is pumping 40 billion dollars a month into WallSt in order to prop up the failing economy. Yeah, recovery. Sure, what ever you say Obama(cheeky liar).

Don't Trust CPI Numbers, GNP Numbers, or Unemployment Numbers. We need about 20-25 Million good Full Time Jobs. Nothing else makes sense talking about. We have:

1) Under Employment
2) Unemployment
3) Those that Gave up Looking for Work
4) Those that would work if there were good Jobs
5) Those that want Better Jobs with Benefits and Higher Pay
6) Small Businesses that would like higher Consumer Spending
7) Small Businesses that would like Low Cost Loans to Expand or Start business
8) Small Businesses are the "REAL" Power and Strength of the USA.

And the only way you're going to get that is to return manufacturing to the US. Continuing to press for Free Trade, higher corporate taxes, and ever increasing governmental regulation, is a death knoll to the American worker.

But believe me, the Left does not care - they have completely removed the "human" from their humanizing. The Right favors Big Business, the government favors a spend and tax, and the poor are very busy commending governmental care.

So I think... we're basically screwed; sooner or later, we're gonna have to Lock and Load and reclaim America.

Yes, I've heard that about the left before. Could be that Wealth Leftists have had some big plans for America that don't always involve providing high paying Jobs. As you say The Right has been the one to Claim to Support "JOBS".

But I think we should examine these Ideas.

1) I think Democrats have always been the Champion of common people (until they started taking corporate Money under Clinton).
2) I think Most Middle Class and Poor and Immigrants and Blacks have been Left of Center or Democratic or at least Appreciated Medicare, Medicaid, Health Care and Social Security.
3) Workers Rights, Miners Rights, Civil Rights, Safety Rights have all been Deomcratic or Leftist Issues or Union Issues.
4) Democrats and Individual Rights advocates have always been grass roots (of the common People).
5) Republicans seem to have a Legacy of Big Business, Slavery, Corporate Rights, Lobby Rights, Defense Spending, defense Lobbying, Defense business, Oil Business, energy business, Out Sourcing, Off Shoring, Tax Loopholes, defense of wealthy to the IRS.
6) Corporations don't take care of people - they resist any extra expenses or costs to the bottom line. As costs for Safety or Health go up - Corporations go Off Shore and Out Source.
7) Unions did get strong and hurt profits when executives made very bad deals that drove production overseas (bad executives).
8) Republicans and the Right don't take responsibility for human and individual rights as well as blame Unions and Subsidies for the High Cost of Government programs and poor executive decisions.
9) The Fact is that Defense Spending and War Spending has driven the Federal budget into the dirt. And the Right will never admit it. And they will never raise taxes to pay for the department of defense Spending.

Yes, I trust the Left, Democrats who are common people, and even trust Socialist more than I trust Big Money Interests, the Right, War Mongers, Isreali Lobbyist, and Republicans.

The Dems lied to the nation and cost 60k kids their lives, along with over 100k severe injuries in Vietnam.

Wow, I never thought about that. I know a Vietnam Buddy that kind of CLued me in a long time ago. He was active trying to get Vet's Benefits in Washington and get MIAs back from Vietnam. He wanted the truth to come out and for Vets to get the 'right' treatment. He wanted Americans to know about Vietnam. Congress seemed to always let down Vietnam Vets. Even McCain.

I suppose LBJ was a Southern Democrat. JFK brough Vietnam to the Public (democrat). The US Strategists were the ones really behind Vietnam War and wanting to take over from the French Loss.

SLAVERY was not a republican enterprise and either were lynchings, which were voted down over 200 times by the Democrats.

Yours is a political rant on the highway to hell; mine is a self defense.

I think it is well considered. But I don't want to inflame. Perhaps I should consider removing that. Are you familiar with Corporate history origin as a Charter or Marque that allowed merchant ships to Privateer. Certainly corporations were involved in Opium Trade, Slavery, and Piracy of a form. Maybe it is a stretch to expect people to turn from Republicans based on corporate History, suppression of civil rights, money as free speach, etc.

The Letter of Marque was a tool of war; with the exception of the brigantine few ships with large holds were capable of doubling as a privateer. Piracy, though, was not a legal enterprise - it's a world of theft, not investment. The small trader corporation was a necessary vehicle because few could afford the short term investment of building and outfitting a ship; to engage in the Atlantic trade generally required a pooling of resources. My ancestors were, among other things - sea captains, owners, and investors.

Unprincipled, that's the way I see the Democrat party. And I'm not even a Republican.

Money as speech... Obama was in office three weeks when he began touring the world with his money speeches - it was all about Wall Street - and he has not looked back since; no financial principles whatsoever.

Good Response. Yes, I sense that Washington DC is unprincipled. I have to agree. Whether it is Congress or the President, they are not that different from an executive. They are in a business to get Re-Elected and have to choose goals and focus on the big stuff. They end up sort of unfeeling and unconcerned as you say.
