Did you know that the top 5 execs at Lehman Brothers extorted one billion dollars through intentionally gambling away their clients' hard earned dollars on investments they knew were worthless right before they collapsed their company and the entire financial system?

A BILLION DOLLARS! FOR FIVE PEOPLE! And not one of them has been charged with a crime or asked to pay back a penny because THEIR CO-WORKERS WRITE THE LAWS IN THIS COUNTRY. I think those are the people who should be persecuted. Not the people of OWS who just want a place to live, a bite to eat, an affordable education, and a job that has some human dignity.

I find it insane that there are middle class people defending the people who syphoned all of the money out of the system saying that they "worked hard for their money" and criticizing the people who are just asking for a fair shot at obtaining the basic necessities to survive. That is comparable to a slave criticizing fellow slaves for being angry at the imperialist landowner. We all need to study the real issues behind what caused the 2008 collapse and judge with our own minds instead of parroting the propaganda that the corporate media vomits onto the television screen.

Anyone who wants to argue against this perspective: Please watch the film "Inside Job" before commenting. If you can watch that entire movie in an unbiased fashion, there is no way you can possibly defend the criminals on Wall Street ever again.

Amen - For decades now the corporations and special interests have had our "representatives" bought and paid for (both on the right and the left). Don't get distracted by the symptoms - we need to address the root cause. Concentrating our efforts on getting the money out of our politics is the best way we can create an environment in which further reforms can be realized. Until we end the current system of legalized bribery (campaign donations) and paid lobbying our politicians will continue to be the LAP DOGS of the corporations and special interests. What we need first and foremost is real, loop-hole free CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM!!!! If the corruption is not dealt with first, the chance of any other meaningful reforms becoming a reality is almost zero - the special interests will just use their money to buy votes and put forward bills that create loop-holes or otherwise twist the law in their favor. If we want our children to live in a country where there vote matters, we need to get the money out of our politics, otherwise they will increasingly become the 21st century version of the "landless peasant." Spread the word - End the LEGALIZED BRIBERY!!! CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM needs to be THE main goal of the protests!!!

Have you ever heard or seen of Bill Black? He was a top guy in the S&L crisis. You might like what he has to say about OWS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XJe7O-3QBc&feature=player_embedded
