According to Warren Buffet there is a class war and the rich have been winning for years.
You know really there has been a silent class war going on in America but the wealthy drew first blood.
It is outrageous that they would use their political ties and their money to create a system from which they benefit more than the average American.
Back during the Bush presidency they fought to repeal the estate tax. Many wealthy Americans fought against it because even though they would have benefited (well they would have to die for it to affect them so really their children would benefit) they did so because they saw how unfair it was.
Take the sugar industry for example. Sugar costs a lot more in America than it does in the rest of the world. But a few wealthy sugar families have been able to keep preferential treatment, making the importation of foreign sugar almost impossible through the use of import quotas.
A few people benefit from these governmental protections by essentially establishing a government protected monopoly.
It doesn't benefit Americans most of the sugar industry is highly mechanized they don't employ that many people.
The real result a few get rich with government help and the rest of us pay higher prices for sugar than we would if there was free trade.
I hope so!
No war but the class war! (oh wait, let's not forget the war against patriarchy) But we didn't start the fire. Therefore I propose: No War But The Flame War
Yes.
no we just decided to finally start defending ourselves!!!
