There's a site out there that asks that question, for the sake of starting conversation between us in regards to our government and what it's doing right/wrong. I think we all deserve to have our voice heard here: http://www.youmepolitics.us/
He kept his promises to Wall Street.
It's not a single politicians Lies we should be worried about. It's the 53% that believed those lies dispite our attempts to reason with them in 2008. The 53% who ignored all the warnings and sacrificed common sense in order to make some righteous statement of how we are not a nation of racists. A Nation who claims to Never discriminate based on age or race did just that by appointing a leader based on his age and race. Now? we pay for it.
What we should be worried about is that 53% who can be led around by the nose with promises of "hope and change" the ones waiting month after month for their personal "Stimulus" checks in the mail. the ones who rallied behind a poor peoples messiah, star struck and ready to follow him to the depths of hell. which BTW is just about where he has led us all.
The problem with those people is that they are usually scared and blissfully ignorant. No one in this country save for obviously us know how to delve into the a deeper understanding about what candidates are really about. Most of those people rely on family and friends to tell them who to vote for or they shallowly believe that a Presidential Candidate is like the celebrity equivalent of Kim Kardasian who obviously does nothing for this society. No one bothers to watch the GOP debates earlier than three months before the election so by election time they have no idea how they have been duped. This is potentially the most tragic thing about this country is how people are so easily lead. Unless this country develops a strong backbone and the equivalent of George Carlin cynicism we will always get screwed.
Exactly.
And even worse, thanks to "Pop Politics" the GOP is now the "Evil group of grumpy old rich men" .
Good luck getting the masses to listen to logic or reason anytime in the near future.
What amazes me (not really) is the fact that Obama is half white, so it's just as accurate to say we have a white president as it is a black one. It shows we still have a long way to go since our view of him is based solely on his skin color.
Bob Marley, Fredrick Douglas and Malcom X are all bi-racial but in the mind of your mind I know you see them as black. African (Black) Americans did creat the "One drop rule" but they they were foced to live by them and the same goes for Obama.
Just thounght you should know :)
When I said "we" I meant the country in general, not "we" as in "me." The fact that I pointed out he's half white should tell you I don't think of him as "black" but that most the country does. How many times have you heard anyone call him white? You and dantes both took it wrong. Must have been the way I phrased it. Oh, and I have to say this: Marley still kicks ass.
If your view of him is based solely on his skin color that is your issue. I think he is the most shifty, untruthful, scheming President we have ever had.
And his was supposed to be a transparent administration. Yet he won't cooperate in an investigation where a company headed by bundlers for him get a half billion dollars kicked their way.
agreed. he'll go down in history being the most corrupt. that's why its happening faster and faster now, he has no brakes.
I don't view him by color, my point was almost everybody else does. When I said "we" I meant the country in general.
no, skin color wasn't the topic here or the issue. I think a lot of us were proud for our "darker skinned" brothers and sisters? It was just unfortunate for us all he had to be a liberal democrat.
If he would have been the kick ass president we hoped he was going to be, that would've done more to boost a positive image of the US than anything that's been done in decades.
We know you hoped he was. maybe we can chalk it up as a learning experience that will last a lifetime.
You guys should carry on this discussion on this site, which was created for this type of conversation: http://www.youmepolitics.us/
Personally, I didn't vote for Obama, but I still hoped for the best, especially after that "Dubya clown. When I say "we" I mean the American public in general.
Damn. Really? If we thought he was going to be the kick ass president?
It's not a fucking teenage popularity show. He is a JOKE among the world now.
Did you see Sarkozy step back from his 'whats up bro' hug'. Did you see the "Leader" of the free world chomping on gum like a 5 year old.
I can't wait until this SCOAMF is gone.
"I don't view him by color, my point was almost everybody else does. When I said "we" I meant the country in general."
So the majority of the country is racist then? By your word that is what your stating. America is not a racist country. If you say we are, you're fuc*ing ignorant.
You miss my point, dantes. Read my first post, which was a reply to tomcat68. In fact, read tomcat first so you won't take it out of context, which is what you did with my statement. I'm saying he's half white but everybody seems to think he's black. And if you think America is not a racist country you, my friend, are ignorant.
nd if you think America is not a racist country you, my friend, are ignorant.
I don't need to go back and read it once you made that statement.
Do people have prejudices? Yes. Do you? Yes.
Okay, not going to erase what I stated in this post earlier but I did go back and read it.
Maybe I live in a different world, but myself and 3 of my friends have only been the 'whites' in my group of close friends. We even joke that it looks like a UN Assembly when we go outl
Personally I think Obama live up to what he promised as best as he could, considering the economy, the political atmosphere and other external forces (global down turn) outside of our control. Easier to destroy that it is to build, George bush took 8 years to destroy the largest most dynamic economy on the planet, one would have to be pretty naive to think that something this large could be remedied in 3yrs.
Those are really good points, Atomic. Obama did have a lot to fix upon beginning his presidency; the economy was already falling to pieces, as you mentioned. Someone started a conversation in this regards on http://www.youmepolitics.us/ and you might want to respond to their comment there!
Not at all!!! He is pro-wallstreet.
This site is a good place to start: http://www.factcheck.org/tag/barack-obama/
NOPE, vote out ALL incumbents!
