DEMAND THE CONFIRMATION OF A DIRECTOR FOR THE CFPB: One of the most important causes Occupy Wall Street needs to take up is to demand that the Republicans stop blocking the nomination of a director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau - without a director, the CFPB can only attempt to protect consumers from abusive financial companies and practices with one hand tied behind its back. The Republicans are holding this agency, created to protect the 99%, by using this tactic to demand changes to the CFPB's leadership structure that would gut it of any real power to impact the financial lives of Americans.
