OK, they got our attention. Good first step. Now, for steps 2 thru 200. The movement has to better define objectives, messages, targets and actions.

Much change is made thru legislators. So, like what the Tea Party did, Occupy has to occupy legislator offices at the state and federal levels. They have to have specific demands for change and go beyond the generalities.

They can petition their colleges to put pressure on bad corporations and practices. University endowments control billions in stock. Put pressure on the schools to put pressure on the BAD corporations for reform. Etc.

The movement has to study how to effect change, in detail. And, move on to the next 199 steps. Some ideas in here: http://www.teaparty-patriots.com/field_manual.htm

You will NEVER cause the change I believe you are trying to affect unless you define your premise in ways that everyone can support you and in a way that revolutionary change can occur. Tackle TRUE CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM. Demand laws that state that a politician CANNOT accept or spend ANY contribution that does not come from a citizen that he or she would represent. Even push for a Constitutional Amendment. Everyone would join you on this.

I've heard from numerous sources the Tea Party has been co-opted. I don't for a fact know that to be true. OWS has Republicans and Democrats as well as independents and others. There are left-leaners, right-leaners and those near the center. Any Tea Partier that thinks their movement has been co-opted should come on over and join us. Any Tea Partier that DOESN'T think they've been co-opted can still join us, there's no reason they can't be a member of both groups. Send them that message.

The Tea Party fits the GOP's game plan perfectly: no tax hikes, no how. For the game plan, see the Rolling Stone article: http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/how-the-gop-became-the-party-of-the-rich-20111109. Co-opted perhaps, but the result is an even higher level of militancy for the co-opters.

Just out of curiosity, since I've heard a bit about some wanting to join forces, are the Tea Partiers against also, joining OWS? Or do they think OWS should join the Tea Party en masse? Has either of these options been discussed? I'm interested in knowing what they think, I don't know any Tea Party members personally.

Now we are talking. Form a coalition.

And the more factions in the coalition, the merrier, as long as the aims are compatible and mutually beneficial.
