List of OWS achievements thus far:
Demonstration of courage,
Name recognition,
Worldwide following,
Fantastic and creative website,
Media coverage (thanks to TrevorMnemonic ).
I am now ready to make a prediction. OWS will not only survive but it will ultimately change America and the world for the betterment of mankind.
To all you skeptics, what about a compromise: the community organizer under the bus for your support. President O under the bus for your support, OK?
Incorporate OWS and get a listing on the NYSE. One share for every supporter.
Amen!
Not to mention that OWS has been OCCUPYING THE MEDIA. It's on every news network. They talk about it on local news stations too. EVERYDAY.
OWS has occupied the minds of many throughout the world.
Forgot that one. I'll add it.
<3
The style of the forum sucks though, and the overall website could be better for sure. Why not a vbulletin style message board? Surely the donations would be enough considering the other achievements you list.
Name recognition and demonstration of courage is something, worldwide following...ehhh...the over all following could be better IMO...
They should try plone: http://www.plone.org
This way they don't have to reinvent the wheel.
OWS, I love your forum app, please make it available for Apache server. If it is available now, where is the source?
...at least, until the next season of "Jersey Shore" arrives. :P
So OWS has achived nothing towards what it is fighting for. Thanks for confiming that.

The so-called "movement" is dying. It was never popular anyway. It's just a fad for radicals and young idiots.
Public Policy Polling is saying the numbers they will release tomorrow will be really low ....

"Going to have some pretty bad numbers for Occupy Wall Street tomorrow...movement not wearing well with voters"
Radical leftists are the only ones supporting this movement .... crime, filth, and all.
Thanks Rico...For your retarded comment.
Awww ... Poor Baby.
You're mad because a polling firm is going to be telling the truth tomorrow.
You'll get over it. Smoke a joint and then urinate in the street. That seems to make you people feel better.
Thanks Rico...For your retarded comment.
Probably not. I'll make a prediction. I bet they will go away once it gets too cold for them. Let's just see how many are there in December. They don't have tents or bikes now. Cold, wind, maybe some rain. We'll see how dedicated they are to their cause whatever that is.
Name recognition counts for an achievement? Like Kim Kardashian?
Yes, even for Kim, I do regret. Name recognition is not an easy task.
Not if it continues to appeal to only 20 percent of the population.
Just wait. 20% will turn to 70 and 80%. It's hard to ignore reality when you don't have a job or you're in fear of losing your job. America will continue to crumble and our ranks will swell. A sinking ship has to be abandoned. At some point we all have to get off.
THE REVOLUTION HAS STARTED - Read “Common Sense 3.1” at ( www.revolution2.osixs.org )
FIGHT THE CAUSE - NOT THE SYMPTOM We don’t have to live like this. "Spread the News"
Stop smoking crack and get a job.
This is a free country. At least it was yesterday. I love crack in the morning and smack at night. But I really love revolution. Change. Progress. Mental Growth. What I know you will never believe. But that's not my fault, that's your problem.
I know it's hard to believe but you have to: “WE ARE FREE!!!” (Take off the blinders) Isn't that why we're here? http://WeAreFree.osixs.org Wake----Up! It's time to throw off the chains...
FIGHT THE CAUSE - NOT THE SYMPTOM Free people shouldn't act or live like slaves...
No Rick. You will actually lose numbers. The approach was wrong and people see it. It may seem like you are in the masses with the crowds and police and hoopla. The fact of the matter is most Americans do not support OWS in its current form. Stop and think about how many people are out there.
I don't pretend to know what the numbers are. It might be 80% already for all I know. You sound scared!
FIGHT THE CAUSE - NOT THE SYMPTOM OsiXs (The Nuclear Option)
Hardly Rick. You do not have the majority support as it stands. I am trying to tell people like yourself what you are doing wrong and how to attract the masses.
"America will continue to crumble and our ranks will swell."
It sounds like to you, bad news is good news. Are you a cheerleader for the collapse of America?
Of course not!
Most people are feeling that money, not the voice of the people, is what gets heard in the halls of power, most people agree that the rich are not taxed enough, most people agree that the divide between rich and poor is too wide and has to be redressed. I think those more or less encapsulate what OW is about and mainstream media brainwashing not withstanding, it's pretty much the majority consensus. OW has forced at least somewhat, these concerns into the public discourse. Bloomberg is a fine symbol of what is wrong.
Most people do not feel that way. Here is why. Education. The top one percent pay more in taxes than most make in a year. They are taxed at the most progressive rate.
If every working person in the US was taxed 100 percent of their income, it wouldn't even scratch the surface of our national debt. The problem is spending. Obama has added more to the national debt than all previous presidents combined. We need drastic cuts in spending. Taxes are not the answer. You will get your tax hike, but it will do nothing to fix the system.
Again. I and many agree with a lot of what OWS is saying. It's the tactic, the image and the secrecy. It's the lack of leadership and the lawlessness surrounding those involved. Most of the protesters you see on youtube and the news have absolutely no idea what the problem is, who is responsible and how to fix it. They appear young, naive, emotional and radical.
That is the problem
EVERYBODY'S BUSINESS In Class Warfare, Guess Which Class Is Winning E-MAIL PRINT REPRINTS
By BEN STEIN Published: November 26, 2006 NOT long ago, I had the pleasure of a lengthy meeting with one of the smartest men on the planet, Warren E. Buffett, the chief executive of Berkshire Hathaway, in his unpretentious offices in Omaha. We talked of many things that, I hope, will inspire me for years to come. But one of the main subjects was taxes. Mr. Buffett, who probably does not feel sick when he sees his MasterCard bill in his mailbox the way I do, is at least as exercised about the tax system as I am.
Illustration by Philip Anderson Put simply, the rich pay a lot of taxes as a total percentage of taxes collected, but they don’t pay a lot of taxes as a percentage of what they can afford to pay, or as a percentage of what the government needs to close the deficit gap
OK, but what are they winning? What are they doing to you that is making it unbearable to live? The average poverty line in the US is $487 a week gross.
They have not gotten any laws passed that stop you from making as much money as you want. The one percent are not responsible for inflation and a sinking economy. Why are you so quick to give all the Govt. spending programs a pass?
They've rigged everything, man. Wake up.

How To RIG the Stock Market In recent days we have seen HUGE swings in the stock market...The FED has a Plunge Protection Team created by Executive Order 12631 under Ronald Reagan
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Working_Group_on_Financial_Markets
This 'team' receives it orders from the FED on a daily basis(how would YOU like THAT inside info) and attempts to run the market up so every thing seems just dandy in America
If you follow the Market, you may have noticed that the market opened down and was falling on Friday....THEN all of a sudden there is a magical upward shove and the indicators are marching a solid straight line for a positive close...The market was not acting the way the indicators said it should, which suggests 'Plunge Protection Team' on the job!
One way the insiders can rig the market is to use their high-speed direct computer links to place a huge order for stocks, then when the market reacts to the order by moving upwards, canceling the order. As the market plateaus, the order is placed again and as soon as the index starts up, again canceled. By repeating this trick hundreds of times a second, insiders with direct high-speed trading systems (such as Goldman Sachs) can game the market indices up while the media assures you this is all because of a good jobs report which only days ago they were reporting was bad!
"Reuters NYC: The Labor Department reported that the economy created 117,000 jobs in July and revised the prior months’ growth slightly to bring the average over the last three months to 72,000 jobs per month. This rate of job growth is below the 90,000 a month needed to keep pace with the growth of the labor force. Consistent with this fact, the employment to population ratio (EPOP) fell slightly to 58.1 percent, tying its previous low for the downturn. While the unemployment rate edged down to 9.1 percent, this was entirely attributable to people leaving the labor force."
With access like that you could make millions in a few seconds or destroy or sky rocket a companies stock in a few seconds to create a 'good market outlook' for the lamestram media to support your lies....its THAT easy..."
Rex, the losers are the ordinary investors, the municipalities, the union pension funds. In the market if one side of a trade wins, the other loses. It's rigged.
