Forum Post: Dear America...

A main purpose behind Occupy Wall Street is undoubtedly the sickness of the American people with all the corporate greed in our country. The very same corporate greed that has destroyed our economy and left us with unemployment stats rivaling that of the Great Depression.

There are many ways to protest this greed and I believe I have a way that, combined with these Occupy movements, could be a truly effective protest in its own right. To that end, I humbly ask that you read this petition, support it, and spread it to the rest of the American people: http://www.change.org/petitions/holiday-blackout-2012

Disclaimer: This is not a petition in the strictest sense. It will not be sent to anyone. It exists only to gather signatures for the purpose of measuring support. You don't start filming a movie with no actors, and you don't organize a protest with no one to participate. To that end, what I want is merely to gauge support and see if a protest of this kind would be worth organizing and pursuing.

It's not to be sent to anyone. It's more a way of gauging participation and spreading the idea.

So, you want a........pact?

In a sense. Moreso, I simply want a list of people who would be willing to do such a thing to determine if it's a possibility worth organizing/pursuing on a greater scale. I've edited this info into the post to clear it up for others.

I read your petition. However, I am a little confused.

I am not confused about not spending money. This part I understand. I am having a wee bit of trouble understanding what this petition is to achieve. We sign the petition and it gets sent to whom and for what purpose?
