Their new sentencing guidelines will
cost my buddies in the CCA plenty,
incompetent prison guards will lose their jobs,
but most importantly,
my CCA stock dividends will be cut.
Whoever reads this don't be mislead. It is not only people who approve of the drug war that are angry. Any American worried about civil liberties should be furious. With ndaa, the murder of an American and his son by drone strikes without the benefit of a trial, the bulk collection of all our communications, and the crinislization of protesting events guarded by the secret service Obama and his supporters have shown they don't care about our constitution or the american
Decriminalize the illegal drugs, THE WORST ONES ARE LEGAL!!!!!!!!
More deaths caused by alcohol and tobacco in one year than a decade of the "Illegal Drugs"!
The three reasons pot, coke, shrooms and other drugs were/are CRIMINALIZED was/is to disenfranchise or remove American Citizens from the Electoral Process! To win conservative Votes! AND to make money with Incarceration (which we are the world leader of)!
It has NOTHING to do with Public Safety.
It's all about dissident and racial profiling, and Voter Suppression!
"The New York Times explains how it would work:
For example, in the case of a defendant accused of conspiring to sell five kilograms of cocaine -- an amount that would set off a 10-year mandatory minimum sentence -- the prosecutor would write that "the defendant conspired to distribute cocaine" without saying how much. The quantity would still factor in when prosecutors and judges consult sentencing guidelines, but depending on the circumstances, the result could be a sentence of less than the 10 years called for by the mandatory minimum law, the official said.
The Obama administration says that it's shifting gears because of overcrowding in prisons and that the move will help curb government spending on corrections. "
I'm sorry to hear about your dividends, but this is purely political and is going to do absolutely nothing in terms of reducing us from the worlds largest prison complex.
Legalizing pot would be a logical first step of many. This is just more hoopla.
Another sell out piece of legislation that the msm is going to slobber on for the next 24 hrs, ignoring the bigger issues as usual.

The day they give up on the war on drugs, is the day they arent the empire and hence no one wants that bargaining chip anymore.
More states need to move to legalize pot, that would be the biggest thing we could do right now. Changing the weight terms in a 10 ki coke bust isn't going to change a thing.
Not that we shouldnt like progress, but holy shit the entire nation is sick and tired of these clowns tap dancing around EVERY SINGLE ISSUE and then a press release like this....filled with fluff.

I'd like to think Obama would have made some moves at the federal level now, instead of just cracking down more on it, but he bailed on that as usual. Just like everything else. Total sell out.
Why dont you start with the two Democrat bankers that run the main two players- Jamie Dimon and Lloyd Blankfein.
This isnt a Dem vs Rep thing. This an us vs them thing for crying out loud.
I think it was good what Colorado did. Good progress.

For someone who voluntarily worked for a war criminal, says the bailouts were good, calls people "faggots" and calls for violence against people here, you got some serious nerve acting like Im to the right of you.
Everyone has had just about enough of your hypocrisy and name calling. I'm not responding to this nonsense anymore. I'm perfectly content with who I am and so are all of those that Ive met and worked with over the last 2 years.
Now go ahead and threaten me again.

Nice to see them get on board with Rand!
Sen. Rand Paul today released the following statement in anticipation of Attorney General Eric Holder's speech regarding reforms to federal drug sentencing policies.
"I am encouraged that the President and Attorney General agree with me that mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent offenders promote injustice and do not serve public safety. I look forward to working with them to advance my bipartisan legislation, the Justice Safety Valve Act, to permanently restore justice and preserve judicial discretion in federal cases. I introduced this legislation in March with Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy as a legislative fix to the very problem Attorney General Holder discussed today.
"The Administration's involvement in this bipartisan issue is a welcome development. Now the hard work begins to change the law to permanently address this injustice
just goes to show you - not every Rs is always an Rs

Really!! For as much as Obomber likes to do things unilaterally, it sure might raise his creds a smidgen with me if he actually moved a bill through the system to make SOMETHING he wants to do LAW. Fair and square. With ALL 3 branches buying in
