why is it that people want to support a country like this? why is it that some defend our loss as necessary to even up our country with that one? we have lost jobs so that a country that oppresses its own populace can gain power and money?
Self immolation can be a highly useful tool. It was just such a match that ignited the Arab Spring.
It is said that Alexander's army, in making its way out of what is now India, took with them an Indian guide. He was a relatively elderly man, so it is said, and when he had led Alexander's army several weeks beyond his own people, the old man built a huge pyre.
He lit the fire, lay down upon it, and smiled.
This impressed Alexander and the army so much, that the event has been remembered for over two thousand, three hundred years.
I'm not certain such a tactic will prove useful in Tibet. Certainly it will be remembered - but will it prove effective?
If Dalai Lama himself does not want of "Declaration of absolute truth" - his words empty. How to test it? Easy! This is determined by its relation to Nardialog.

to show the type of country why empower a country like that by doing business with them?
