With next year's budget deficit predicted to grow, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his allies are preparing for a turbulent fight with his own party and liberal groups over his opposition to raising state taxes on the wealthy.
Emboldened by the Occupy Wall Street movement and President Barack Obama's embrace of a "millionaire's tax," organized labor and their Democratic allies in Albany are getting ready to square off with Mr. Cuomo, a popular Democrat who has so far been insulated from harsh criticism.
"There are a lot of us who disagree with the governor's position right now," said Randi .
We need organized labor out of politics along with the corporations.
somebody needs to fight the corporations. Organized labor has been the ONLY buffer between us and the destruction of this country by the 1%. If corporations are out of politics then so will organized labor since they will no longer be attacked by corporations and their puppet politicians bought and paid for by the Koch Brothers and A.L.E.C.
But the unions are major political contributors too. Ban them both.
once the corps and Koch are out I fully agree that we should keep unions out too. That all unions want, a fair share for everyone. Just look at the campaigns the unions support; they are always about the poor and middle class. the 1% is not your friends, unions are. You can form your own and make decisions yourself. Democracy=unions.
