Just wondering if anyone watched/ is watching this interview and if so, what your thoughts are. Matt, the CEO of Freedom Works/Tea party supporter, just announced that OWS is falling apart and will not be effective.
Watching the daily spin of half truths ( aka lies) never ends. Does Matt believe that the Tea party has been anymore effective? Matt also stated that the tea party assembles by following the rules and that they don't disrespect and destroy public property like the OWSers do and that's why they are more effective. Based on these comments and his lack of a clear understanding of the other core/real issues plaguing our country and the history of effective civil disobedience, I believe that his perception of the OWS and other issues is so truly short-sighted, compartmentalized and simple minded- the very mindset that has destroyed this country. Hang in there folks...Keep up the great work!!!

I watched the interview. I generally don't agree with him but the implications of his comments about OWS is that between the out right criminal element that has infiltrated the various OWS locations coupled with how the conventional media WILL exaggerate any lawlessness, OWS needs to evolve to the next level of actual political activism. Establish a short and long term doable agenda. At some point a more centralized leadership is going to be mandatory. This business of a general assembly is romantic but it will not work because at the end of the day it is simply mob rule.

Yes, I agree with your points- well stated and thanks for posting. However it seems that Matt should realized that it's inevitable that most large scale civil disobedience will result in some level of violence whether it's from some fringe group or individual using this occupation to vent or the police/authorities. The tea party, imo, is not as effective in that their smaller protest meetings only preach to the choir. OWS on the other hand is visible to all. The tone has certainly changed in this country whether it's due to the OWSers or the tea party. I tend to think it's the OWSers who have had more impact but in any event, I noticed that during the interview some callers were fairly ' excited'. I like hearing that kind of passion because we've been too complacent and apathetic for far too long.
