Obama is moving aircraft carriers to be within strike range of Iran. What will be the position of OWS after another war starts? Will we reelect him so that he can finish what he started? I am interested in your opinions.

There have been aircraft carriers within striking range of Iran, as well as the rest of the middle east for decades. It is nothing new.

Military action against Iran would most likely be UN sanctioned, not unilateral action by the US. You have to remember, 1/3 of the world's oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz. Action against Iran would be much more similar to the first Gulf War back in 1991 than the current Iraq war.

Do you think the Republican candidates are less hawkish?

Unknown...just looking for OWS'ers opinions

Okay. I don't get your question.

If Obama Starts another war, how much support will OWS give him. Will he be reelected?

Well, what's the choice, Obama, or an even more hawkish, Republican loon? Maybe we won't vote at all. That's probably what I'd do if another war is started.

Of, course, not voting for Obama is a default vote for the even more hawkish, Republican loon. (An abstention is a vote for the majority.) So it's even less of a choice than you stated.

You're right. I'd probably end up voting for Obama, but I wouldn't be too happy about it.

Given the options available right now, no matter what we do, holding our nose while doing it is called for.

Alas, I guess.

thanx, just trying to get an idea of what others think.

No problem. Let's hope it doesn't come to that anyway.

I watch the back and forth between US and Iran. I wonder how a war with Iran will affect his reelection

Bush Sr had enormously high approval ratings after the Persian Gulf victory because of the great success of the UN backed mission, US led mission. The deterioration of the economy hurt his approval ratings and led to his defeat.

It is the opposite situation with Obama. HIs approval numbers are held down by a poor economy. I could see a quick, decisive war that is supported and fought by the whole world against a rogue nation helping his approval ratings.

There won't be any war before the election and then more than a 50:50 chance that irrespective of who gets to be Emperor after the election, some pretext will be found for another unnecessary and unconscionable WAR !!!

From outside The U$A, 'Republocrat or Demoblican', it doesn't seem to make a damn bit of difference as Empire and its 'Military Industrial Complex' grind on regardless !!

Fiat Pax !
