i have a credit card, and i am paid on a monthly basis, so i need it for large purchases, etc. and I would like to switch to another company.
is there any credit card company that is not affiliated with the banking institutions that have caused so many problems? i've found most credit cards to be BofA, Chase, Citi. - and no i don't want a discover card.
There's Working Assets Visa. It supports progressive causes but it is issued through FIA which ultimately is connected to BOA.

Credit union is your best bet to avoid big bank involvement.
Credit unions. http://www.suzeorman.com/igsbase/igstemplate.cfm?SRC=SP&SRCN=suzescoop&GnavID=1&SnavID=134&NewsID=188
thank you
Do this instead. hold of on making that major purchase. Take what a reasonable monthly payment would be and save that away each month. When time comes that you want to make that big purchase you will be able to do it without paying any interest. Dont believe the lie that you need credit cards, they will bury you. Im speaking from experience. Dont get one.
i've had one for years, i pay it off almost every month, and i've never received more than a $4 finance charge for not paying off the entirety of the balance. It is a useful tool for business and personal expenses.
Its useful if not abused and can be managed correctly. I got into some trouble with them when I was younger. Got it payed off and I just prefer to stay away from them. I like to only buy What I can pay cash for. But that's personal preference. If you were just looking for your first card id advise against them.but seems you know what you're doing so credit unions are a good way to go, as others have suggested.
