Protests cannot lead to a person being put in jail. The courts have no legal right the throw people in jail at the behest of public opinion.

Demands that include putting people in jail are crazy and just turn people off of the movement. The same goes for "overturning" Citizens United. The Supreme Court does not EVER worry about public pressure. It takes generations to reorient the veiw of the court by replacing judges one at a time.

Taxing the wealthy at a higher rate only gives the politicians more money to hand over to...the wealthy.

We need to focus on demands that are

A. Achievable B. The means to achieve them are well established C. Popular

Amending the Constitution is a goal that fits these three requirements. I say we propose to do just that. The change will be permenant and far reaching, almost impossible to undo.

Agreed, so perhaps you would consider our group's proposal of an alternative online direct democracy of government and business at http://getsatisfaction.com/americanselect/topics/on_strategically_weighted_policies_organizational_operating_structures_tactical_investment_procedures-448eo , hit the facebook “like” button if agreed, and then join our group's 20 members committed to that plan at http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/StrategicInternationalSystems/

How would you want to amend the Constitution?

Sorry. You asked how, not why. My fault. I support an an amendment already under consideration, one that takes money out of the equation as far as elections go and outlaws lobbying, except by private individuals. Most countries do not allow paid lobbiests to throw money at politicans.

There are two processes that can be used. One starts in the Congress, the other starts with various state legislatures. A basic wiki search or something can explain the concept in more detail.

I think the state level process would be the easiest in terms of putting political pressure on the politicians who have to vote on this. JMO
