It is amazing how many issues aired here come back to EXACTLY one point.
As long as our democracy is owned by the rich and the corporations, we will not achieve our goals.

A commoner? One of the lowly normal average population? One of the great unwashed? One of the little people?

I think that individual would be too smart to get stuck with the job.

Might be a different story - if you could get a bunch of real people in the senate and congress - otherwise it would just be a wash - And as I said :

I think that individual would be too smart to get stuck with the job.

No, it can't happen. If the majority had ever been interested in someone who is really real, they would vote for such people. No amount of media or money would ever be able to prevent such a collective desire. Instead, voters vote for whoever appears to represent their interests whether those interests are for the greater good or not. So, people do get the government that they deserve.

The common man doesn't think in terms of a political sinecure gained through unethical behavior. So the answer is no.

We can't even get a woman to be president... one step at a time. This was the first election cycle in the nations history that didn't have a WASP as a presidential candidate from either party..... the very first time in history for the GOP.

Lets try to get a few into congress before we move onto that.

I believe that the internet scares the shit out of the control phreaks.

There were clearly more than two contenders for the last presidential election, and the candidate with more to offer the people was incarcerated to prevent her from participating.

If that alone doesn't ring any bells with the thinkers out there, and raise questions about the lack of coverage with the controlled media, then everybody deserves the criminals that currently populate congress.

your position - no matter how strong or weak - is better served with the truth
"the candidate with more to offer the people was incarcerated to prevent her from participating." was arrested at a protest - as was I - It did not prevent me from "participating".
Jill Stein could not and will not ever be President and could "offer" anything - but achieve nothing..
it is sad that people like you are wasting your time on a dead end.

It's a nice idea, but don't be naive. Politics is a dirty business . Lying, cheating, fraud , blackmail, and murder are a part of it.

i never said it was not. but that doesn't mean a man of the people can't rise to the top.

i would love to see someone who puts love of country before quest for personal power become a president thats a leader , not a dictator.I I also believe that in the current political environment it would have to be a miracle.

i am not sure what it would take. probably just one of us to actually say FUCK IT ILL DO IT.

Someone with enough courage to withstand the full force attacks that will come from the left and their P.R arm, the left wing media.
