Forum Post: Corporations Are Not People, Money Is Not Speech

I think we need to put this great and beautiful movement we are building to the purpose of accomplishing one big goal intended to save our great country.

If we do more, great, but the Occupy movement needs to get behind passing a constitutional amendment designed to take our country back.

We need a constitutional amendment that specifies that only natural persons are entitled to the protections of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. This is a country of, for, and by the People.

As part of that amendment, there needs to be a clause which specifically states that money is not speech and does not get first amendment protection. This would get money out of politics. And it mean that our government would belong to the people, whatever their political persuasion, not to global corporations who do not have the best interests of our people and our nation.

In the same way Republicans have been taught by their corporate masters to simply repeat their lies over and over, so do we need to be stubborn and resolute in demanding these things:
