Food Stamps are now called "SNAP." [Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program] The USDA which runs the program says there's no money left to issue benefits after February, if the shutdown continues. [CNBC website: usda-food-stamp-benefits-guaranteed-through-february-despite-shutdown.html
In 2018, the USDA issued SNAP benefits to 20,078,039 households totaling $60,609,401,339 in the USA.
20,836,016/$63,603,669,143, 2017; 21,777,938/$66,539,351,219, 2016; 22,522,261/$69,645,138,228, 2015
Will the starving men, women and children of over 20 million families take to the streets when the shutdown has weakened them sufficiently to overcome the indoctrinated inhibition to rebellion against libertarian bullshit? Of course not! Starving people are too weak to fight!
However, when Walmart, Kroger, HEB and the rest of the supermarkets are cut off from their share of the $60+ billion, Trump and the Republican morons will be put on a short leash by their owners, the final recipient of SNAP benefits. That is how the shutdown will end and FOX News won't be able to spin it.
So, libertarian fools, if you want to avoid the embarrassment, better make a real deal soon!

You are correct SNAP funding is the real crisis.
Only 26 enemies to defeat in the war on poverty!
