So far, the media has shown images/footage of protesters clashing with police. I think the time has come for a different approach on the part of the protesters. When visible lines form between a march and the constabulary, the protesters need to begin sending emissaries into the police line. One at a time, in order to appear aggressive. Each emissary must walk into the police line, offer to shake hands with the nearest officer, and thank them for their good work. As many members of the group as feasible. Until it can be established that the police are not the enemy, the hostility and bad press will persist.
