More than demands, I think the protest should be about offering an alternative narrative about what went wrong with the country in the last few years. According to the Tea Party, the problem was too much government and high taxes, and we should just stand back and let the magic of capitalism solve our problems. We've done pretty much that for the last three years, and it has been a total failure. Instead, we need to recognize that capitalism has gone off the rails, and drastic action is needed to get things going in the right direction again. The exact details of how to make things right are not as important as the general message.
