Clinton challenges Myanmar to expand reforms In the NEWS. All those trips politician making is nothing but to push US corporation take control over othere countries and some cases we threat them.,so basically politician are working for copporation which do not provide work to American
Those who have visited Myanmar know that many people there are quite happy with their lives, and they do not need American corporations ruling their country. It was such a pleasure to travel through a country without McDonald's restaurants at every corner :)
Are they?
Should no one go to Myanmar and encourage the regime to reform?
I think someone should.
As they reform, will that provide an opportunity for the people of Myanmar to be exploited by American companies who do not hold human rights, workers rights, or the environment in high esteem?
Yes it will. It will provide that opening.
I say that to sit silent on the sidelines while the people of Myanmar suffer is not an option. I say we must change the rules of how business is done, rather than sit and do nothing.
Yap,in the name of human right, democracy, worker rights we saw that in all the countires we invaded from vetnam to libya
That's such horse shit - you cannot equate Libya with Viet Nam. That's ridiculous.
Does it create the opportunity for exploitation by U.S. corporations? YES!
Is that an improvement over mass murder? HELL YES!!
That is no excuse for corporate exploitation - that's not what I'm saying.
what I am saying is open your fucking eyes.
The word "reform" is vague. It often means marketization and austerity.
How long has Aung San Suu Kyi been off of house arrest?
and how much time did she spend in prison?
