THE LEAD AUTHOR of the Senate Republican tax plan, Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch of Utah, said that the federal government no longer has the money to fund the popular Children’s Health Insurance Program, known as CHIP.

“The reason CHIP is having trouble [passing] is because we don’t have money anymore,” Hatch said. “We just add more and more spending and more and more spending, and you can look at the rest of the bill for the more and more spending.”

CHIP is an $8 billion program. The Senate bill passed in the early hours of Saturday morning includes $6 trillion in tax cuts, financed by $4.5 trillion in tax hikes elsewhere. Hatch, though, promised CHIP would still pass. “We’re going to do CHIP, there’s no question about it in my mind. It has to be done the right way,” he said.

There is a path ahead here is a great place to look:

"Why “Democrats”? Why not just start a new party?

The two-party paradigm is the model for our country’s current political system. While we agree with and often champion many third-party candidates and movements, the reality is that right now it is next to impossible for a third-party candidate to win a national election.

We want our democracy to work for Americans again as soon as possible. The best way to do this is by working to change the Democratic party from the inside out. Once Justice Democrats take power, we plan to implement electoral reform like ranked choice voting so third parties can have more power in our democracy."

Serious question @HouseGOP @SenateGOP @GOP @DNC @SenateDems @HouseDemocrats

Could members of government be charged with crimes against humanity for the wealth care tax / general public austerity legislations? Any idea @IntlCrimCourt?

It is a scam by the rich to take from the poor, whose meager benefits evaporate after a few years, which can produce a bubble in the stock market and wreck the world economy,.... They are vulture predatory thieves with a license to steal, and steal healthcare from citizens. Yes prosecute and declare criminally negligent, insanely shortsighted, immorally able to see beyond the strings which pull them, fuckng puppets of oligarchs, all like trump, failures as humanists or enlightened, and going to hell?

bill is one enormous attack on our health,” wrote Social Security Works’ Nancy Altman and Linda Benesch before the vote. “It takes away the ability of those with large health care costs to deduct those costs from their [annual] taxes. It repeals the part of the Affordable Care Act that seeks to make health insurance affordable

If I had been asked to design a plan maximizing the fiscal deficit while minimizing the economic gains, I would have proposed the one just adopted by the US Senate.

This reform massively lowers taxes on corporations and the wealthiest households, passing the bill to the vast majority of households. At best, they will just get some temporary tax cuts to sweeten the pill. ..... https://blogs.letemps.ch/cedric-tille/2017/12/03/trump-tax-cuts-open-bar-on-the-titanic/ OPen Bar On the Titanic
