The ultimate anarchist call- all politicians lie so we must have no politicians

Support the 99% .... demand elections be National and state holidays

What is relevant is with any politician is why they lie. It would be important to know if she's willing to lie to advance herself professionally using a minority status she doesn't actually have. If so, then she's just as likely to sell out her constituents for personal gain as any other politician.

Elizabeth warren is hated by the big financial corps and the republican tools that prevented her from becoming the head of the consumer protection agency. She has the right enemies. Your comments are distractions. Support OWS. Vote out credit card company lovin republicans.

Not relevant to me one way or the other, I'm not a Massachusetts' voter. My personal opinion is to vote out incumbents. She may well be much better then the alternative.

Vote Brown out, but lying is not usually a good sign, she ran through several explanations before landing one that seemed merely foolish. For all you or anyone else knows she's just saying what you want to hear to get elected.

[-] 2 points by VQkag (930) 12 years ago

She has the right enemies! She fights for the 99%. Against big finance. Whatever distractions come up we must disregard. Keep your eyes on the prize. I might agree with just voting out incumbents but I have to look a little closer at who are their enemies. It's usually most illuminating. We have to be a little more sophisticated. Support OWS! vote out Fox tv supported politicians.

Well she claims to have created much of the foundation for the Occupy Wall Street movement (according to ABC news). Maybe you're right and the 1% hate her, but she herself makes enough to be in that 1%.

Doesn't matter, I'd vote for her just to unseat Brown, but I don't believe she's going to be all that different then any other Democrat. I think she'll find reasons for her to bend her ideals to fit the DC game once she gets the seat. I can't fully trust someone once i find they play games with the truth.

like every Dem in office or to be elected can and will "cave" to right wing, 1% pressure, Our only hope is to put constan,t enormous pressure on them. The dems can be made to serve the 99%. Support OWS. We can be the pressure.

I think we have a different view of pressure. I would say find candidates with the right enemies and get them to run. Be a positive version of the tea party. Force politicians to support or reject an occupy goal.

Too much of the voting population sees demonstrations in a negative way so your power over politicians is at best an illusion. Politicians know the vast majority of voters don't follow you at this point.

[-] 2 points by VQkag (930) 12 years ago

I agree with all of your post. However I don't think we should stop demonstrating. Population make see it negatively but we must continue and attempt to improve the perception. Protest is important and gets many involved. It must grow. and impression will improve.

Very good statement. When we get discouraged at how we're being misrepresented in the press, opinion polls, etc., we should just take a minute and read a history book. Dissent always takes time before it gains popular support, it's always an uphill battle, and we should mentally prepare ourselves for this reality. If the majority of people were always on the side of the highest virtues, then we would have emerged from the primordial soup an enlightened species (but obviously it didn't happen that way) :)

[-] 1 points by VQkag (930) 12 years ago

Excellent. Well said.

[-] 1 points by MsStacy (1035) 12 years ago

By all means demonstrate, but it's my belief that demonstration without some political efforts isn't going to be effective.

[-] 2 points by VQkag (930) 12 years ago

Political efforts have to start. I agree. And it's campagn season! Convenient.

[-] 1 points by MsStacy (1035) 12 years ago

Too late for the kind of political action I mean. Candidates should have been recruited to run for congress from every district where there is an occupy presence. Nothing puts pressure on a politician like a threat to his reelection.

[-] 2 points by VQkag (930) 12 years ago

No doubt. At this point we can pressure existing candidates to go on record regarding issues we support. Corp personhood, on shoring of jobs, health care reform correction (pub option), repeal anti protest laws, repeal anti internet freedom laws. Progressive tax reform. decrease military spending, Alt energy investments. and others. I assume we can't agree on everything but we must move the party left (I believe) if we expect to get any change we want. And we must continue pressuring even after the election.

[-] 1 points by MsStacy (1035) 12 years ago

Give it a try, I just think real leverage was given up by not challenging any of the candidates and pressuring them for a position earlier.

[-] 1 points by VQkag (930) 12 years ago

That was definately a lost opportunity. Undoing this corrupt system is not easy and not likely. But we must make an effort. No pressure will let them continue to run over us.

Of course, Cher is part Indian as well. She has to vote with her minority group.
