Say what you want about Chavez, but what he did here is kind of cool:
Chavez says Noam Chomsky's "Hegemony or Survival : The Imperialist Strategy of the United States" is an excellent book, at the UN & suggests people read it. How totally cool was that ?!!! This is an excellent video post !! Takk for det Andy ! & here's a pdf. of a summary of the book ...
https://7chan.org/lit/src/Chomsky,_Noam_-_Hegemony_or_survival.pdf and also try to consider :
"The Bolivarian Revolution - History Has Not Ended in Latin America", by Melkulangara Bhadrakumar : http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article34241.htm &
"The Assassination of Hugo Chavez" - Video Documentary by Greg Palast : http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article34234.htm .
I could have linked to so many good articles and docs. but these two will suffice for now. Nice One and Solidaritet Andy :-) & RIP, Hugo Chavez Frias, Commandante y Compadre Con Cojones - Solidaridad !!
pax, amor et lux ...
It's like anywhere else. The big factory and land owners, the energy and communications brokers, the professionals who sell out to 'em and a minority of right wing moron de facto slaves who're too dumb to know it don't like a socialist revolution. The ten percent who have something to lose and the hopeless fools of the base rail against it but the majority of the underclass love it when they finally get a chance at life.
Our media doesn't report the good things that happened to the people of Venezuela, Cuba or Iraq. They only tell us about the doctor's and lawyers who can't extract enough from their clients to support a mansion and the government health care won't pay them what they want so they think it's the end of the world.
Castro's a lawyer. So when they speak of his treachery you know what they mean.
I bought the paperback version of Hegemony or Survival several years ago, and I still haven't read it. I will though
