To Whom It May Concern,
I've been participating in the chat room for a week now. I have participated in the chat room to learn information about the protests, as well as make global contacts. This morning I disagreed about the importance of the Fed and was banned for simply disagreeing with the mod & others. I did not use rude or offensive language. It was just a simple disagreement.
I realize this looks trivial in light of everything else going on, but in my opinion the chat room is a valuable source of information and is an important part of the Occupy Wallstreet's website.
I have made these same points before in the chat room without being banned previously. Moderation in the chat room is arbitrary. I believe clear guidelines should be set up for the mods and users, in the same way the global revolution live stream has done. Simply disagreeing on a subject should not be grounds for a banning.
How can we worked toward democratic changes when we you can't even disagree in a chat room without fear of being banned arbitrarily?
I was also banned from the chat room for disagreeing with the moderator. Sent an e-mail to 9.17occupywallstreet@gmail.com. I recommend you do the same.
i agree... people need to be banned if they're using abusive language... social justice... no toleration of abusive language especially those that attack identities of people on screen such as... talking about people's breasts.. racist language.... just ban em...
