The work great, as long as only the privileged and a certain amount of vouchers are available. But follow this trend, where does it end up?
Whats the current trend? The current trend is we are dead broke. War and a bunch of other BS are sucking all the money from the states. Schools are already closing due to lack of funding. Those students simply go to other schools.
What happens when the balance has been tipped? What happens when the average person doesnt have any schools that open close to them, but doesnt have the money for the charter schools?
They will just create more vouchers, that are paid for via taxes, and paid into a private corporation whose main purpose, like any other, is to ship out products at the lowest cost possible.
This is an ugly situation. Read "The Feed" by MT Anderson. School has a trademark after it. 7
When the balance has shifter, and all kids are taught by corporations (which will end a HUGE corporation, like every other industry in this mega corporate country), it will be very sad.
You only think the schooling sucks now. Wait till the teachers are paid $10 an hour via Walmart.
But, the charter schools are not working great. We know that over all, and across the nation, they preform equal to or less than public schools. It is hideous.
There is a lot of talk about how this returns power to the parents, is more local and preforms better. All three are lies.
Be careful what you ask for.
