I'm going to coin a new phrase--- CapitalistCommunism.
This refers to corporations making laws to benefit themselves at the expense of the American people. Example, California wants to vaccinate kids 12 years and up with the new HPV vaccine without parental consent. Example 2, employers are forcing flu vaccines on employees or they will be fired.
We no longer have control over our own bodies--- Pharmaceutical companies do. This is just the beginning. It is a slippery slope. No, the government isn't necessarily the one regulating us-- it's corporations.
Members of Congress are exempt from insider trading laws.
I know, I couldn't believe it, either!
I visited China 15 years ago and learned of the "House Mom".
It's her job to be in everyone else's business-- their marriages, jobs, activities. She makes sure they have 1 child and abort if they get pregnant again. This reminds me of my boss, who enforces the companies policy of forced flu vaccines. What's next? Making sure females are on birth control so they won't get pregnant and miss work? Laugh if you want, but we are heading in that direction faster than you think.
I'm not against childhood vaccines-- they are proven lifesavers. The flu vaccine is not even proven to be 50% effective. It's all about the MONEY!
Our bodies are now owned by our employers.
Its more along the lines of Participatory Fascism, but I like the sentiment. The Federal Government is and always will be an arm for the powerful.
They can own them. I am old but I have not had the flu in 8 years. I have not called in sick in my job in 4 years! I retired from the Fed Gov with almost 2000 hours of sick leave. The shots work.
People like you go to work even when you aren't feeling good because you are responsible and competent. Most people aren't like you. Again, the point is, no one should have more power over my body than me.
You have a choice not to get that flu shot. The cost of your choice might be losing your job, but you do have a choice.
And what kind of choice is that? I have a mortgage, kids, etc. This is only the beginning.
It is still a choice and you cannot deny that. I didn't say it was a fun choice, nor an ideal one, but a choice nonetheless. It's not a matter of "I can't" but a matter of "I won't". And no one would blame you for taking that flu shot to keep your job, but it IS a choice.
Why does everyone think that choices should always be made up of good happy fluffy bunny options? That's not how the real world works folks!
Or CommunistXCapitalism.
