Capitalism = I invent something cool. I sell it and make money for me and my family. Socialism = I invent something cool. You take all the money it makes, I am just a number.
Capitalism = I bust my balls in the field and fill my barn with food for me and my family.
Socialism = You take all my crops. I am just a number.
............
Truth.
its not one or the other, Ideologies merge and evolve over time to produce better outcomes. you are looking to the past we are looking to the inevitable future.
People need to realize it's the Fed and Obama we need to be protesting. Congress has allowed itself to be bought by these corporations when it is their duty to protect consumers in the "free market." The only roll of government in the market should be to enforce antitrust laws. The GOVERNMENT is allowing this corruption to happen so no wonder Wall St. is greedy. We need a capitalist free market to truly be a FREE market. That means no intervention and no bailouts! These big banks were supposed to fail, and the CEOs and company heads are supposed to weigh risk and make responsible decisions. Instead they just anticipated another government bailout, consequently acting out of line. It's not capitalism, it's the government who's responsible! Surprisingly I see that the majority of OWS protesters are Obama supporters who advocate more government and want more regulation of our economy!
we're all just numbers either way.
Sorry...but they are forever co-mingled....just the way it is here and most everywhere else in the world.
And no...Socialism does not take your crops......communism forces you to grow crops and then takes them.......we live in a hybrid economy....socialism is not about taking anyone's wealth or ownership or ability to profit.
Not in America. It won't happen here. This isn't Russia d@@##heads. And I am talking to you!
