Above is a link to a video that is 31 years old. We agree on a variety of issues, but there are some of you who are vehemently against capitalism. Just for the sake of learning and growing; would you take the time to listen to Milton Friedeman asnwer this age old question abotu greed, capitalism, and poverty in the most concise way I have ever heard anyone address this issue? Just think, 31 years ago, people were having this discussion, and yet; this question goes back much much further in history. Thanks and let's have a and honest civil conversation about this. Linda
I was so impressed with Friedman's answers that I think this is something worth passing along all over the itnernet. Hope it gets a lot of attention. Hope we can educate the high school and college kids about the dangers of systems like socialism and communism which never work for the rank and file citizens of countries who have or have had it. It only works for the elite, and the oppression and restrictions with which citizens were subjected to in places like the USSR were something these kids cannot even imagine and that I do not want them to have to experience. It's bad enough that we are gradually looking in the face of a police state.
Here is some background on one of the primary influences on good ole Chicago school uncle Milt.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1W8EVczrTyg
Capitalism combines politics and the monetary system.
The monetary system is outdated as are traditional forms of politics.

Monetary system: resource based economics
Decision making system: Evidence based Science with democracy for subjective criteria
Communism has killed over 100,000,000 people. Socialism has failed in every national iteration.
Capitalism is not the problem in America, it is the lack of it. If the government had allowed the big businesses to fail instead of bailing them out, the capitalist system would have recycled the mega-corps in favor of a rebirth of small business down the road. The capitalist system and Adam Smith's "invisible hand" will always do more than the bumbling bureaucrats in DC ever can to fix this economy. They've failed so far, and now, with Obama discussing bailing out student loans, they're going to continue to fail.
Excellent link worth the time
AMEN I agree 100%
