Forum Post: Can we march on Washington yet? Can we make it huge?

Dear President Obama,

I am 27 years old and I was someone who volunteered actively for your campaign in 2008. I was one of those who helped you win Pennsylvania. I would have traveled all over the country for you. So many of us would have.

Now so many of us who actively campaigned for you - who poured our passion and energy into the promise of a better, more equitable, more just America - are channeling those same ideals into protests and actions across the country. It isn't simply frustration we are expressing, as you have suggested in public statements, it is the hope for something you once embodied.

Please speak up. Please say something to those of us who fought for you. Please stand with us against the unreasonably violent (and sometimes illegal) tactics of law enforcement and government officials who have repeatedly attempted to deny peaceful protesters their constitutionally protected right to free speech.
