If you guys really want to effect real change on Wall Street and in government, damage the leaders, the big corporations, the top Dow Jones companies, the McDonald's the Coke's, etc. Don't buy their products. The best protest ever -- you don't have to leave your couch and you can't get arrested, and it will make a meaningful impact on the bottom line of these companies that buy out the politicians who are NOT working in our best interests. Let's say we boycott the big department stores on Black Friday or better yet for the entire holiday shopping season. Change would come so fast your head would spin. My husband and I have been doing this since the 2008 downturn and we'd love some company. Vote with your wallet!

Just too hard. We need stuff. I just went to this sites webcam in Santa Barbarba, there were ads before the stream started! Before you stop buying stuff make sure your Verizon Data plan is all paid up so you OWS folks can still talk to each other. Just think...in the future Knotts Berry farm may be state owned. And Subway. And in and out and

OPT OUT

If those who still had it stopped paying for health insurance, the insurance companies would disappear. This would create a vacuum in which to institute single payer.

Vote with your money - stop feeding the monster! Invest in farming instead - I'm a capitalist, I know. I just don't think the local farmer is going to rip me off as much and the GD bank!

Just so you know, it's Koch, not Coke's. In fact, Coke's would imply possession.

EXACTLY!!!! I try to ONLY shop at our local shops (except when ABSOLUTELY necessary) and during the holidays our urban shopping districts have a special night where ALL the shops in the area are open late and they have trolley rides, free hot cocoa and cookies (some shops have free wine tasting) and my 10 year old son have dinner at our favorite restaurant in the are and then do our shopping)...it's GREAT!!!!

It would also have a meaningful impact on the workers, you know, those nasty 99%ers that work for those evil corporations. But, heck, you gotta break some eggs to make an omelet.

Fuck I bought groceries this afternoon. Should I take them back?

Yes. That food wouldn't be there without the evil deeds of a capitalist.

The Occupiers in Portland find themselves needing to buy lice treatment because of the outbreak in the camp.

Can we still at least buy Iphones and wayfarers?

[-] 1 points by TH3W01F (180) from Ottawa, ON 13 years ago

Only if they are refurbished and/or second hand.

Cool, I prefer robbing people anyhow, I tend to get free stuffs that way.

Oh la-dee-da another troll.

The fact that my comment "Can we still at least buy Iphones and wayfarers?" didn't give that away speaks volumes about this "movement".

And the concept of "Smart consumerism" flies right above your head.
