Am I mistaken to assume that Obama gave the Brandenburg Gate speech from behind bulletproof glass? The President of the United States, the Commander in Chief of one of the most powerful military machines in the world, who regularly asks members of our military to expose themselves, is fearful? Is this not a first in our history?

NOT -
Bullet proof glass speeches are quite common.
It was bullet proof material. What was he afraid of? The "guests" ( audience) was there by invitation.
And they were sitting in an enclosed and completely controlled space.
WAIT A MINUTE - NO THEY WERE NOT!
To the best of my knowledge this is a first in American history. Putin must have laughed his ass off. American freedom rah rah rah... Frank Sinatra, Send in the Drones... while I hide behind my Sky Shield.
