Bloomberg, the face of the 1%, was on FAUX NEWS saying "the turnout was lower than leaders projected."

7:06 pm: Police estimate the crowd at 32,650. WOW!!!!!!

Most college football games draw 2-3 times that on a normal game day. Hardly HUGE, troll.

[-] 1 points by TIOUAISE (2526) 13 years ago

TROLL? Are you babbling to yourself again, "Happierbanker"???

[-] 0 points by Happierbanker (23) 13 years ago

Yes-TROLL! And your breath stinks so go away.

Hey, these are the same police that the OWSers call stupid and retarded, so they overestimated by 32,600 - what's the big deal??? You expect perfection from the people you call stupid and retarded.

So what? If it was 32,660,000 then what? Obama is still in office.

You people are really dumb.

population density in Manhattan is 66940 per square mile......1,629,054 total ...8,391,881 for all of NYC...doesn't sound like so many in light of those facts

about 1% of the number who will be attending the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade....

[-] 1 points by nucleus (3291) 13 years ago

non sequitur

[-] 1 points by Slammersworld (210) 13 years ago

hahaha....Non-Sequitur? so population or population density don't follow in the discussion of the relative size of an assembled group? Or do you not understand what Non-Sequitur means and were hoping I didn't either?

Fail...

32,000 is beyond anyone's expectation. Except of course for trolls who mindlessly denigrate everything.

[-] 1 points by Slammersworld (210) 13 years ago

I don't denigrate everything, only this, what it stands for, (by the declaration) and what it's become. The movement lives like bums in a park, has no focused point or message, and demands "rights" that don't exist, and that infringe on the rights of others to live their lives without your interference.

if 32,000 is beyond anyone expectations, it's a sadder and more tragic movement than I had first imagined. You can't even muster 1% of the interest or participation of a silly parade with huge ballons...

None of the updated headlines on Google or major news outlets I've visited mention anything other than the police stopping protests this morning and that it's growing more confrontational.

Nothing about the large presence on the bridge this evening at all.

Here is another thing that OWS is exposing: the hypocrisy and bias of the so-called "liberal" media.

CNN became a media force during the first gulf war with 24 hour coverage. Where are they now?

CNN = Corporate News Network

I know you people want to feel like this is big, so you can attach yourself to something successful.....but, seriously....you're a joke, and starting to piss us (actual working producing Americans) off.....you don't represent us, we don't support your declaration or your views...we understand what you're saying, and we think you're fools.....get a life, one that doesn't interfere with our's...Thanks!

[-] 1 points by Slammersworld (210) 13 years ago

yeah....against you

[-] 1 points by nucleus (3291) 13 years ago

We're pissing you off? Then it's working!

I'm for change but this site is using propaganda big time! They claim they they delayed the open of the bell at the NYSE - false!

The police were leaving a pizzeria when overheard saying that "van" statement, not the bridge. Why so much propaganda?

[-] 2 points by nucleus (3291) 13 years ago

That must have been that pizza parlor in the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge.

[-] 2 points by flashcards (39) 13 years ago

Coz we have cnbc, msncb, cnn , Fox , BLOOMBERG NEWS (get my drift) providing the other propaganda your listening too.

Ask your self this... who is in charge of:- NYPD, Trading Firm, Corporate Trading News Empire, and hangs out all the time with his other Media mogul bubbies..

Ill give you a clue, it aint US>>>>>

[-] 1 points by Happierbanker (23) 13 years ago

True. Just pointing out the "spin" is coming from both sides now.

[-] -2 points by journey4word (214) 13 years ago

yea yea LOL.

the actual "Estimate" was 32,654.99 but, that's just a ruff estimation.

then then the, Every time an officer saw a female protester he would Wink then say "Whaddaya say we occupy the van?"

yea yea yea.

and then....... lol

OK I am allowed to Bullshit reply to a Bullshit post

Since when are crowd estimates so precise as to include a "650" after the thousands? After a quick search online, this supposedly overheard estimate sounds like BS. CBS had the count at 1,000 during the day and NBC said that 5,000 union workers showed up for the afternoon. Only off by about 26,000...and 650. From Reuters "A crowd that disappointed organizers throughout the day grew to several thousand after the standard workday ended and labor union activists joined a march across the Brooklyn Bridge, where last month more than 700 people were arrested during a similar march." http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/11/18/us-usa-protests-newyork-idUSTRE7AE0CS20111118

Corporate news has an agenda of its own. If you think that agenda is accurate communication, you are sadly deluded. Most major networks have ignored mass protests in NYC as well as across the country and around the world today.

[-] 1 points by itsbeentriedandfailed (29) 13 years ago

Fox news reported the bridge crossing as peaceful. The video they showed indicated many thousands peacefully marching.

If they were carrying pro Obama signs the media would be in love. Right now they are playing interference for the POTUS until they can spin this in favor of Obama or make it out to be simply as a result of the GOP's governance.

[-] 1 points by nucleus (3291) 13 years ago

Their agenda is $ and power. The power is influence, which they used to get $. Why else have dozens of faux GOP candidate debates a year before the election? Trying to create false equivalency to insure that both parties spend maximum advertising revenue.

The media is not a "liberal" media, it is a corporate media.
