It's mayhem right now in downtown Manhattan near Broadway and Bleecker Street. Most news stations aren't covering it but it's getting really crazy. People are in the streets and have brought traffic to a standstill. Police are outnumbered.
Here's a link:
Don't provoke the police. Stay nonviolent. Watch for agitators and provocateurs.
I am not provoking any police. But there is nothing that can be done at this point. The train is moving full speed ahead.
This is different than any other traffic day how? I've been to Manhattan, I've been on Broadway, the only place traffic is slower is LA.
No. People are MARCHING in the streets next to cars to the point where the streets have become a pedestrian walkway and the cars can't go anywhere. Broadway has been closed off.
Very well; our great nation, already under extreme stress could use a little more fraction.
JPHOENIX, you hope to win people over by insulting them? That's not really a winning strategy.
I'm not trying to win anyone over. People will do whatever they want. And the people are doing exactly what they want in the streets right now.
I'm way far away and will have to read about whatever's going on down there tomorrow... it's past midnight there now so how busy are the streets at that time of day?
There were still a lot of cars. I just put up a link in the main post if you want to read about it. I'm sure youtube footage will be up shortly too.
thnx for the link
What all you naysayers need to understand is that the time for reasonable discussion is quickly fading away due to ignorant people like you not relating to the voices of the majority who are backed into a corner with nothing to lose. So either open your ears or accept what's coming. You can't hide behind your computer all your life.
Is anyone cleaning up after the steaming pile of BS this story is?
Steven Royal. When you hear about this tomorrow from your network news station (if they decide not to censor it) you can apologize to me.
I'm looking out my freakin' window a-hole. Nothing happening.
When the movement becomes Occupy Dania Beach Florida, I'll give you a ring.
Seriously dude. Just because it's not happening outside your exact window means it's false? Why don't you get up and check out Broadway and Bleecker and you can see for yourself if you actually care that much. But I'll guess that you do not.
If this is true it's retarded. What the hell does that do for anyone? Great way to alienate potential supporters.
You know what's retarded? You sitting behind your laptop not doing anything to help anyone. Get off your butt and do something.
[Pssst... You're online too, genius...]
And I stand up for what I believe in. And I walk the walk. You just waste your time on a site you DON'T EVEN BELIEVE IN looking for posts to cry about.
You're a jackass. You're online (almost constantly, by the way) chastising others for being online and 'doing nothing'. Also, if it turns out your dramatic tale of Broadway being blocked is BS (and it sure looks that way) you're going to look even more ridiculous. Go to bed and sleep it off. Give your laptop's battery a break.
I will accept an apology from you tomorrow when you put your foot in your own mouth.
And yes, you are doing nothing. I created a post to inform you and others of what is happening in the streets of New York City right now, where I live. You come on here to do nothing but whine. So yes, I'll say it again. Go do something productive.
Hardly. If it turns out there really was some drama on Broadway, you will still be a jackass for thinking that sort of idiocy is a good idea. You've already firmly established yourself as an ass by chastising others for being online while you yourself are online. Pot, meet kettle.
I am simply reporting what is happening. You are in Wyoming somewhere looking for something to do and I am done wasting any more time in my life responding to someone as ignorant as you.
Riiiight, you're 'reporting'. Nice try, loser. Wyoming? Lol. I lived in NYC most of my life you trustafarian hick.
From your own link:
"Several hundred protesters began marching from Zuccotti Park toward City Hall Park, but were not able to get in because the park was closed.
The procession instead circled City Hall Park a few times.
On their way back to Zuccotti Park, the marchers broke off into several smaller groups; at least three distinct groups were seen from the air in News Chopper 4."
And stopping families from commuting is good how?
Good luck, just another indication that the end is near for OWS
moving full speed ahead.
No luck needed. This movement is getting bigger because the voices of the common man are not being heard. Keep sitting behind your computer. One day soon your world will be very different than the one we're living in now. And there's nothing you can do about it.
Too funny, 'the common man' sound like my father; ignorant and disillusioned. No one is afraid of what you can do to them, you don' even know what you want.
The mayor, the local community board, and the public in general have actually been extraordinarily accommodating to OWS; this is really stupid and will be correctly seen as a blatant attempt to stir trouble. This will be the end of OWS.
JPHOENIX, you aren't the majority, keep your silly threats to your self
I am not the majority. The thousands of people in the streets of NY right now and the 91% that disapprove of Congress, are.
Your chosen name is devils advocate. So if i said I am for racial equality or anything noble whatsoever, you would still try to antagonize and waste my time. So don't expect another response from me. You don't deserve one. Get a life.
There are millions in this country that disagree with OWS..even if they agree on principal.
that's brilliant... 1% of 300M is 3M
