CNN just reported that Michele Bachman was driven from the stage at a town hall meeting where she was going to discuss foreign policy -

by OWS protesters.

Ahh . . . Michele - did you get mike-checked?

No doubt a good thing, because the last thing this country needs is the perpetuation of ignorance regarding U.S. foreign policy . . .

Warren was on the commission that oversaw the implementation of TARP. Lololololol!

[-] 1 points by TheKing (93) 13 years ago

Shows the political leanings of OWS: idiot leftists.

[-] 1 points by RexDiamond (585) from Idabel, OK 13 years ago

Yeah, this movement isn't exclusively liberal at all. Why do people keep assuming OWS is a liberal movement?

[-] 1 points by aahpat (1407) 13 years ago

If Michele Bachman is as ignorant as people claim on foreign policy it would have been far more effective to let her speak.

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

hahaha!

that's funny!

; D

[-] 0 points by aahpat (1407) 13 years ago

There is something very non Zen about your dog like attitudes.

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

I actually was laughing, because I thought what you said was in it's own way both true and funny.

What is unfortunate is that it does not take into account the mass of dis or mis information so prevalent among tea party nitwits.

I mean, common. Over half of them still swear President Obama is both muslim and born in Africa . . . .

[-] 2 points by GlobalSucks (87) 13 years ago

You forgot, he's socialist and muslim at the same time

[-] 1 points by Frizzle (520) 13 years ago

I dono, i found his laugh pretty relaxing.

[-] -2 points by jayp74 (195) 13 years ago

You mean, more ignorant than Obama?

[-] 0 points by aahpat (1407) 13 years ago

Another partisan butthole!

[-] -1 points by jayp74 (195) 13 years ago

And trashing Michelle Bachman isn't partisan?

Yes, I'm a white, straight, Republican male. Flame on...

[-] 0 points by aahpat (1407) 13 years ago

Political not partisan.

I've written equally negative things about Bloody Barack Obama.

As an aging white male Independent voter I have come to see you Democrat and Republican partisans as a canker ridden pustule oozing myopic social disease on the body politic of America.

Don't hold back...tell us how you really feel. Nice name calling BTW.Sad

[-] 1 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

gimme a break.

Michele B doesn't know any more about U.S. foreign policy than Sarah Palin, and we all know that the only thing SHE knows about foreign policy is that she can see Russia from her house . . .

Whiners!

BWA hahaha!

[-] 0 points by Rob (881) 13 years ago

You do know that Palin never said that, it was from a SNL skit. You must watch Fox news to get your information.

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

FAUX news claims Michele B. doesn't know anything about foreign policy?

I had not heard that.

[-] 0 points by steven2002 (363) 13 years ago

What happened to free speech, only free if you agree?

[-] -1 points by Perspective (-243) 13 years ago

That is OWS way indeed. They don't care if they trample other people's rights as long as they get their way.

[-] 0 points by VladimirMayakovsky (796) 13 years ago

What do OWS guys know about foreign policy?

[-] 2 points by tbuontempo (194) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

It depends to who you speak.

Chris Hedges occupies, and he knows a hell of a lot about foreign policy.

When will Obama be Mike_Checked? Are OWS protestors hypocrites like Obama or not?

To reintroduce an unpopular idea by a different name is a classic trick of politicians. Obama has done precisely this in unveiling his bank bailout plan.

In a desperate attempt to distance himself from Bush, the Obama administration has added some complicated economic terms packaged into a system he simply calls the “bad bank.” The essence of the plan, however, is exactly what Bush originally proposed.

Although the details are fuzzy, simply put, U.S. taxpayers could have to pay up to $2.5 trillion more to buy the garbage loans that the banks accumulated, saving them from bankruptcy, while maintaining the same greedy shareholders and inept managers that drove the banks to ruin in the first place.

To distinguish this plan from Bush’s, Obama will force taxpayers to pay trillions to private firms so that they can purchase the junk debt. Of course this changes nothing.

Bush originally shelved this plan and instead opted towards investing (owning) directly in the banks, while purposely choosing to have no decision making power.

The result is well known: bank executives did whatever they wanted to with taxpayer money, such as holding lavish banquets and paying millions to management — all the while making no new loans and now pleading for more money.

While I personally believe that Michele Bachman must be the result of sex between two people with undiagnosed social diseases I would feel really bad if OWS people stated adopting the kind of bully tactics that the right-wing are so adept at.

You simply can't claim a political moral high ground while acting like a low life.

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

We are a diverse group of people. I think that diversity is both beautiful, and very very useful on a practical level.

Consider the iconography of OWS protesters arms locked, defending property from other OWS protesters intent on mass destruction.

WE clearly aren't going anywhere - but our resolve to remain civil and even risk bodily harm protecting moneyed interests could easily wane in the face of entrenched repelican resistance to sanity and common sense.

[-] -1 points by Rob (881) 13 years ago

Civility is not yelling and chanting like children. Please let the grown ups run the show.

[-] 1 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

Um, I would, you know? And in fact I'm pretty civil, generally speaking. But that does not change the fact that the diversity that I have noted among the OWS movement is highly useful toward fomenting the kinds of changes that must be made in the face of our recent economic disaster and the upcoming crises caused by global warming.

IF we don't get a handle on repelicans now, what you are presently seeing is minor compared to what is to come.

[-] 0 points by Rob (881) 13 years ago

you do know that the dems were in complete control the first 2 years of Obama-there was no way for republicans to block ANYTHING. Now the Dems control the Senate and White house, 2/3 of the gov't and the republicans cannot block ANYTHING in the senate. This mess is caused by the dems more than anyone else.

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

I see - a repelican shill.

Naturally you have heard of the filibuster -

and yes, the dems could have ended the Bush era tax breaks way back when, and they did not. They did not because significant numbers of dem Congressmen were elected by right leaning constituencies, and they were afraid of losing their seats - which they subsequently did - to tea party nimrods.

[-] 0 points by Rob (881) 13 years ago

They also controlled the house and senate the last 2 years of Bush. the Housing crash was a result of policies by Bill Clinton (a democrat). Stop trying to [blame everything on the republicans, the democrats have plenty of culpability in this.

[-] 1 points by JoeSteel (58) 13 years ago

I like how you fail to mention that during the last 6 years of Clinton's presidency, when the majority of bad legislation attributed to him alone was signed, Republicans had more of a majority in Congress than Democrats currently have in the Senate.

[-] -1 points by pinker (586) 13 years ago

Good lord. What a bunch of creepy drones. Fuck Michelle, true that, but this creepy group talk is way creepier than she is. What are these morons even saying?

[-] 0 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

LoL!

I don't even know. I think they are weeping, and can't articulate clearly through their tears . . . .

[-] -1 points by stevo (314) 13 years ago

Liberal debate. Shut down the opposing view.

Nothing but an ignorant savage mob....and they're proud of it.

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

yeah-ya.

you seem to have completely forgotten all about astroturfing or the busing of astroturfers from within the tea party to town hall meetings nimrod.

[-] -1 points by MikeYD (7) from Alameda, CA 13 years ago

The comic thing is, it will probably increase her popularity, which is in the sewer. Great job OWS! Way to help a nut job move her campaign forward.

[-] -1 points by dugfmjamul (101) 13 years ago

Another example of OWS disrespecting our First Amendment while demanding first amendment protections, calling them hypocrites is way too nice...I like seditious progressive democrats better.

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

Oh, poor booboo.

They were exercising their rights to free speech - not curbing hers.

That's alright. let it all out. There there.

[-] 0 points by dugfmjamul (101) 13 years ago

If Michele Bachman was driven off the stage by OWS violence, how is that not 'curbing' her freedom of speech?

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

Violence? Violence?

I don't recall CNN said anything about Violence . . .

[-] 0 points by dugfmjamul (101) 13 years ago

Interesting you zero in on 'violence', but the fact people came to hear Michale Bachman speak not OWS....very interesting indeed!

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

o, I get it. OWS protesters aren't people. I get it. YOu don't like us, and are prepared to paint each and every one of us as something less than human.

I get it.

Go ahead.

[-] 0 points by dugfmjamul (101) 13 years ago

Does 'Oppositional Defiant Syndrome' mean anything to you?

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

great. I see you are among the crowd who believes that human behavior can be controlled via the dsm IV.

fail

[-] 0 points by dugfmjamul (101) 13 years ago

Does that mean 'yes'?

[-] -2 points by Rob (881) 13 years ago

what a childish act by OWS.

[-] 1 points by invient (360) 13 years ago

I guess she forgot how to handle the public...I thought they screened people at these republican -public events.

[-] -2 points by Rob (881) 13 years ago

I suppose she could have pulled out an ar 47 and dispatched the protesters to get her points across, but when children are throwing a tantrum like this it becomes a screaming match and an adult will step away and let the kids cry it out. She could not win this, though I would support the use of an AR47.

[-] 2 points by invient (360) 13 years ago

That is pretty silly... not everything can be solved by guns.

It is quite cowardly when someone cant even face the ones they represent.

[-] -1 points by Rob (881) 13 years ago

I agree with you, but what the protesters did was just as cowardly.

[-] 1 points by invient (360) 13 years ago

I can see that. There was also the scott walker thing that the his local occupy did, I found that tasteless but probably necessary for Gov. Walker, since I dont think he is as accessible as a representative...

[-] 1 points by JoeSteel (58) 13 years ago

When people talk like this, like they're Rambo or something, it makes me think they're very, very scared and weak. Katrina taught me that I did need a gun, in case my city floods and there's no way out and no one shows up for a week, but I don't constantly think about mowing people that I disagree with down. I feel pretty secure about myself and my life. I think you've either got to be mentally ill to think in such violent imagery or extremely insecure in yourself or your life.

[-] 0 points by jayp74 (195) 13 years ago

I think you meant AK-47.

Thanks for the tip. I'm in the market for a gun. Seriously.
