Just some "funny" info from Brazil. While the European and American banks go bankrupt, the Brazilian economy is booming and people here seem to live without any sense of the global crisis: The Brazilian bank-employees, since 2 weeks now, are in strike, for 11% salary-raise. The board's already agreed with 9%, but strike is going on... This fact seems so unreal considering what is going on in the rest of the world! How can we overcome the internal contradictions of capitalism and really unite that 99% for a better world? As an European sociologist with Marxists roots I believe that all workers should have a legal right to strike, (as in Brazil) but this one I really can't rhyme with reality!
