It's sad that people just can't do without their stuff.
I don't have the numbers but I think there are a lot of people that aren't getting the messages. The ows are not getting any messages out to the general pupilc. All people see is they are occupy someplace and that cops are arresting them. They Really are not getting any message out for the unoccupied people to go along with. Like here inWI we have a govern to recall, we know what we have to do. We need clearer things we can do. We all can't occupy someplace.
This was a real bust for OWS.
It shows that while the 1% vs. the 99% is a very catchy concept to get your hear around, it is not really accurate.
But what is accurate and what should the numbers be?
I like the 1%.
So the 99% is the problem. How do you define what the 99% really is?
There are the hardcore OWSers (in the camps, doing the marching, boycotting, banging the drum, etc.), but what part of the 99% are they.
Then you have the paper tigers (no direct/physical participation, just commenting on others’ contributions), like me, that troll the OWS web sites to try to figure out what is going on and what OWS really is or means to them.
And then you have those that are totally unaware (like my mother) of OWS movement or don’t care about its goals or requests for action.
Here is my cut at the divide of the 99%: 0.1% hardcore, 0.2% paper tigers, 98.97% unaware/don’t care.
So, with the population being estimated at 307,006,550 (- Jul 2009 - Source: U.S. Census Bureau) , what do these percentages represent.
Age 15 – 69, Men and Women, @ 217 Million 1% - 2.17 Million 0.1% - 217 Thousand (this looks really high to me) 0.2% - 434 Thousand (this also looks really high to me)
98.97% - 214.76 Million
Does anyone have any real numbers?
Well, for those few who are participating in the boycotts, can know they are saving a pile of money, and those who don't are going down in a pile of debt.
