The emphasis of the OWS movement needs to be in BOYCOTT OF ALL MULTI-NATIONAL CORPORATIONS that are the true takers-of-freedoms around the globe.

The only way you will AFFECT THEM IS THROUGH DIMINISHING THEIR PROFIT AND BONUSES.

BOYCOTT GM BOTCOTT GE BOYCOTT APPLE BOYCOTT IBM BOYCOTT SONY BOYCOTT INTEL BOYCOTT THE BIGGEST MULTI-NATIONAL CORPORATIONS BOYCOTT THE ‘BIG 5’ BANKS

The big corporations are the only businesses in positions to create new jobs and hire the unemployed. They are maintaining large profit margins and taking huge bonuses. Inflation is being passed through to the customers, but US wages are in decline. The largest multi-national corporations are hiring in other countries but not in the USA. They are effectively moving US jobs outside the US. They have turned their backs on the US workers.

I commend all of the brave and dedicated folks who are taking part in the Occupation of any and every street in the US, expressing their outrage at the erosion of personal liberties that were supposed to have been protected by the Bill of Rights & Constitution. I wish I could be there in person and not just in spirit.

I share the disgust and contempt that most Americans rightfully have for Wall Street Banksters and the corrupt DC political extortionists, but they are largely puppets in all of this mess. It is the Huge Multi-national Corporations that control Congress trough Special Interest and campaign $$$.

You are very right. If one day there are enough Americans awake and informed and not brainwashed, then boycotts will be possible. I hope that day is not so far away.

um, most of the OWS trolls roaming the streets have Apple products. Also, these big corporations you want to bring down are the ones that employ most people and give us wonderful lives. Do you even understand how the economy works and what makes our life so wonderful in the USA ??

Problem: although the 1% makes money on these corps, they're the heart of the world economy. They die, and intl. economies follow. That could lead to conflict, and at the most WW3.

It is the intended goal of the 1% to sink, deconstruct, and destroy the world economy; so that they can then consolidate their power, and create a world government or global financial dictatorship. The collapse of the world economy by design will proceed whether you boycott the corporations or not. This is what you are seeing with the default of many nations and the imposing of so called austerity upon them. The 1% or banking elite are intentionally destroying the world economy, in order to take full control of it. So your fear can be put to rest, if you can see what is occuring before you. It's already in progress; as is the 1% agenda for unceasing perpetual wars; with WW3 being planned as we speak.

You're also not considering the reality that corporations and the 1% now control the world, governments, and populations; and fully intend to gain 100% control. So when we decide not to go for their achilles heel, the bottom line, just be aware that their intention is to do us massive harm and damage. Someone just posted this...it's terrible and true.

While I tend to agree, economic boycotts tend to be more efective, when there is a specific target, and the actions of many people are focused lazer like, onto that one or two targets.

When that corporate target is economically brought down, it sends a warning out to all corporate boardrooms. Economic boycotts are one of the most powerful weapons a social movement can utilize, and it brought down the entrenched system of South African Apartheid.

Due to the economy, many people are afraid to use this highly effective tactic; believing it will result in even greater job loss, and unemployment. What is not understood in this justified concern, is that it is the intention of these corporations to eliminate millions of jobs regardless, and bring in the technologies that don't require workers. Additionally the corporations have stated that they will make the American worker competitive with the Chinese worker; the same workers who are jumping out of the factory windows to their death, so great is their torment, and enslavement.
